    Bottom pour Ladle ??

I like to use Saw dust for my flux when I smelt, but it gets in the way as I pour the lead. I don't want it in my ingots .
Soooo>> I noticed that Rotometals has a Ladle they say pours from the bottom and keeps the slag/dross ( perhaps my saw dust ) on top.
I like to make 1# ingots so I thought a 2# ladle would work.
What- cha all think, and how does the lead only go out the bottom.
This will show the kids that even us old experienced doods ask questions.
Now the sad part is they are about $ 35-40 bux with the shipping.
If it's a good idea and some one has one that is used and they might want to sell it for not to much I would be inerested in it.
    Is this a good idea?

Are you in need a pan lube cutter?
I make custom made cutters in a cutting size of your choice.

Rotometals sometimes has little specials that can make the Rowell ladles more affordable. I bought one after many years of procrastination. Sue enough, it was one of the best $30.00 I ever spent. I ladle my alloy into the ingot moulds, and my ingots have never been as clean as they are now. I got the smallest one, and it's just the right size to fill up each ingot cavity.

Eee up, I looked at the small one also-- but I thought if I wanted to pour 1# the 2 pounder might be a tad better. But I sure wouldn't toss that 1 pounder out of the picture.
Ya just make em into 1/2 pounders and keep the nasty stuff on the top.
Clean ingots --yup-- that's what we want Eh.

I bought a large ladle off of evil bay, made it larger (welded a ring around the top), and welded a piece of 1/2" pipe in it to pick up from the bottom of the ladle. I can pour at least a whole ingot pan with each filling - bigger is better.
We need somebody/something to keep the government (cops and bureaucrats too) HONEST (by non government oversight).

Every "freedom" (latitude) given to government is a loophole in the rule of law. Every loophole in the rule of law is another hole in our freedom. When they even obey the law that is. Too often government seems to feel itself above the law.

We forgot to take out the trash in 2012, but 2016 was a charm! YESSS!

FWIW the Lyman and RCBS casting ladles work the same way, for those who don't know. Just not big enough for ingots.

gray wolf - How bad have you been hit by these storms? Every time I hear the weather I wonder how much digging are you going to have to do to get down to Oquossoc.
