I'm very willing to wait. Saving up massive qtys of lead in the meantime!
10 bullets per pound!!!!! That's a lot of pounds of lead!!!!
Bob J, are you doing this one 50-50, with some lino tossed in???

Hi Duke!
I plan on casting these 50/50 RL/WW water dropped.... This has been my "go to" alloy for all my 500 mag boolits except for the spire point.... That guy gets straight ww so it is hard enough to prevent the spire from getting dinged during handling....
This is going to be a fun one......
Bob, I have been doing 50-50, but since I have so much linotype, I have been adding some of that in (8 ounces or so) to bump up the tin a bit.
I have been air cooling, and it works well with my 500.
If you recall, I did a test where I ran almost 1,000 rounds down the pipe without cleaning, and there wasn't any trace of leading. The outside of the gun was coated with waxy smoke.
I hate dealing with the water in my reloading room, which is where I do the casting during the winter. So, I'm guessing that the lino addition makes up for the water dropping.
I make all the 500's the same way, including the spire point. I've never had one get dinged, except at the terminal end of the shooting range.
I have been shooting the gun so much that I just passed the 2,000th round down the pipe since I got it last summer. I got the plate and tools to set it up on my Dillon 550b, and will be running castings and a massive reload effort next week (between classes.)
The new 44 magnum, when it arrives, will take some of the shooting pressure off this gun. I still will always bring it to the range when I go, since there's always some wide eyed observer more than willing to take a few shots with it! I love spreading the word!!

Nice to have the linotype..... All I have is WW to alloy but it does the trick....
The 500 is a fun one at the range..... Really one of the best benefits of casting/reloading is you don't have to worry about each round being $3+... Makes is super easy to offer to anyone who is interested to take a couple of shots.....
Am on my third 8 lb keg of H110 so figure I have at least 3k down the pipe this year.....
Sorry for the hijack guys.....
PM sent
I must inform you on another delay. I must order a new cherry

Thats a hole I could almost fall down into. It will be a great looking boolit once you can get the Cherries to stay together.
Obviously, you need to slow down the advance rate. Probably why you also had so much chatter with the first one. So much surface area to machine.
We are all patient, Miha, and we know that when we get the molds, we will be smiling!
You may have to cancel your extended vacation.... hahaha You know, to work on our molds.....
