Midway is now out of the stock with the Lee dies. That's what I use, also with the factory crimp die. As a plus, I also use the dies with my Russian Nagant revolver.

No problem with with lead in my .30 carbine, using a Lee mould and clip-on ww.

    Still out of stock.

Question, though, Midway charges shipping, don't they?

If so, I'll prolly save enough by bundling the die set (and FCD) in with other stuff I'm ordering from Grafs. (I hold my orders until I've got $80-90 worth of stuff so that it pays the freight for me.)

If I REALLY want the die set, I can order it from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Lee-Precision-...arbine+die+set) and get free shipping, but I dunno at $53.53...

SWMBO would freak. (She just doesn't understand. Yet.)

I don't need it THAT badly. I guess I'll wait.

The fact that the Lee set will be double-duty is one of the "selling points" I'm using...

Thanks for the black powder Nagant load, nwellons. I can't wait until I get to try it out.

Lee 125 gr. RNGC sized .311 and seated to headspace on the front drive band works great for me with no leading. Lubed with Ben's Red. Maybe the GC helps to prevent gas cutting lead into the gas port.

I have two FN CB's that feed fine in my GI Carbine and shoot reasonably well, plus the Lyman 311359 pointed GC bullet

Old thread revival. Amish, does your carbine cycle semi-auto with the 100 grain boolit and the load you listed?
I was a dog on a short chain.
    Now there's no chain.

Lee 120 gr RNGC, WQWW, lube of your choice, sized 1/1000" over groove diameter, 13 gr surplus WC820 or a suitable H110 load. Runs about 1900 fps, most accurate load I've found. Would have taken gold with it at Perry had not I dropped one in offhand as a total miss- my fault- and got a silver instead. No leading.

Hey Jonk, we have a winter league at Erie County Conservation League, I shot my carbine there this past weekend, we are shooting at 100 yards and they will put the right targets up for carbines. You aught to come shoot with us some weekend. Next match 14 December.
