    Colorized Cast Bullet Coating

    Have you guys seen this?
    http://www.ares-gun.sk/?lang=english
A company in Slovakia has a proprietary coating for cast Lead bullets that is in bright colors. It looks like a pretty thick coating, but they say it completely removes the need for a J-word or Gas Check. Found out about it here:

There was a lengthy thread a month or so back where this was discussed. Forum members were trying to determine if that would be an alternative to classical lubing. It sounded like it'd involve a fair amount of time and money to duplicate.

If it's do-able at home, Lee Precision will no doubt be the first to give it to us!

    Cool stuff.

More than likely a nylon coating like S&W/ Federal did/does on the Ny-Clad bullets. Their coating is a dark blue.

ive shot these moly coated bullets before and they do smoke less than some lead bullets, and may lead less in your barrel, but I dont get any leading from any of my cast bullets, and using caranuba red and a good powder, there is almost no smoke. Its a cool concept, but not worth the time and energy unless there was a very easy way of applying tthe coating. it would just be another step in the process for me because i would still have to size.

I'd love to find out how this process works! How awesome would it be to color code all your loads!!! I could get away from my "post-i note on the box" method!

Not long ago there was a thread on these bullets. Since I don't have the exact wording of the thread title, search don't do me no good...

I guess after shooting them painted boolits you'll just need to get some paint remover to clean the brl.

how do you control the size of those??
so i'd cast get green stuff all over the place let it dry or activate it to dry.
    then run through my lube/sizer?
i guess it would be usefull though i could buy one 38 mold and just add more stuff for my 44's and 45's.
and i could add diameter for the oddball bbls like 318 326 etc.

Reminds me of those evil coated bullets that politicians claimed cops hated.

Is it just me, or does the green bullet look like it has WAY TOO MUCH of a coating on it...?

I'm sure there is a bullet in that "blob" somewhere....

I'm all for easy, but I kinda like my barrels in one piece after a range visit.....

    Just sayin.....
