I use it for my muzzle loaders and have used it in smokeless loads. It does work well in either application. I will continue to use it in...

+1 for this mold. I've had good results with this boolit in my 308 bolt gun. Can't offer any input using it in a gas gun. 14gr (IIRC) of 2400 in an AK pattern runs well and keeps the brass in my...

I have a fancy nylon one that is good for cleaning. At the range to stuff the bore, I use a 7/16" dowel with a piece of 44MAG brass on one end (rim filed down to fit the 50cal...

I had a similar situation, only mine went to the next level. I was working on a 308 project, loading a case worth of ammo for the stash (it's a great way to use up the dregs in the many powder jugs...

Accuracy can actually increase by loading backwards for sub speeds - think rocks-in-socks aerodynamics. It pushes the center of gravity forward and the bullet is less likely to tumble. Even if it...

Here is where I am:
I already have a working sub load - 62gr SS109 bullet over 4gr of Trail Boss (I have yet to chrono and tweak it, but it's definitely sub sonic).
I would like to do 2 things:

9mm - W231/HP-38, or Unique for general plinking. HS-6, Blue Dot, or Accurate #7 for heavier bullet weights, or stuff that I plan to run out of longer barrels.

I have loaded 308WIN with black powder.

147gr FMJ bullet (M80 ball)
Standard large rifle primer
Average velocity at 25 yards - about 1600fps

Pinch your #11 caps just a bit before you put them on the nipples. That will help them stay put. They also make nipples for those guns that fit #11 caps if you wanted to go that route.

That's 30 minutes into a cold oven. About 20 in a preheated oven. This way I don't need to babysit the oven until the coat gets shiny before I start my timer.

Go for it. I'm not laughing. Hey, I put together a muzzle loading upper for an AR-15. I'm sure you'll get the same "*** is that" looks at the range that I get.

Store in a cool dry place. About the only thing that vacuum packing would do is waterproof your ammo stash (provided there are no leaks in the packaging).
Actually, a better long term packaging...

I did my first PC batch. 121gr, 9mm RN. 2 PC applications (HF red), shake & bake. 400°F for 30 minutes in the old toaster oven set on convection bake.

Granted, you're not stuffing the load down the barrel, but you get pretty much the same thing with any cap and ball revolver. They shoot just fine.
Maybe I'm too old school. Guns should be made of metal; if not steel, then an aluminum alloy, but definitely not plastic.
Plastic is for grips, stocks, and hand guards, not the main stress...

You're going to need to "modify" the boolit design to make the math work correctly. Since the boolit (round ball) doesn't have a flat base, the volume taken up by the boolit is not your standard pi...
