Mine are coming out mostly between 515 +/- and 518 +/-
The +/- is within 1.5gr high or low
That is without the glue which i'll do next.
I may have to re-melt a few of my slugs since the ones i have can differ by almost 10gr. Guess that depended on how hot my mold was when pouring them?
Hi all back with a pseudo update lol
Will start casting next week for this new load youve been helping me with as i finally got in the GTT1 wads but i am running low on slugs.
What i wanted to...
Nothing like a nice rack of hummingbird ribs, either!
The lyman 525 are used as a sabot style. Wouldnt making them smoother by tumbling with graphite defeat the purpose? Since now the wad wont be able to grab it as well to impart the spin from the...
The varying spin would, in my mind, be because as you get tighter and tighter choke, those helical lines grab harder and thus impose more spin on the slug (all be it very slightly in comparrison to a...
Thats why i asked lol they look in great shape! Im hoping to get 5+ loads from each or would that be asking too much?
Okay thanks for the heads up! Cant get the gtt1s until summer so i will try my luck with the trap commanders. How many reloads can i expect from the federal hulls?
So Will has the hulls and oc cards and the trap commander wads. He can place an order on the gtt1 for the summer.
Is the difference all that noticeable at 50yrds? Im thinking ill just wait since...
What kind of red tape is involved trying to ship ammo down to the states though?
Ive done a quick google search and doesnt seem to be anywhere in canada for this type of thing.
Typical...
Kraken: Thanks man ill give him a shout and see what i can get.
The lyman reloading thread is where i put down my situation. Seems like these remington hulls might be my weak link for sure.

Thanks guys i will keep digging. So many posts and so many variables i appreciate the help!
I am planning on using these hunting deer at most 50 yards so anything close will be good enough for...
After speaking with hogtamer he advised me to stop using that setup because the wad is showing excessive damage. He posted a recipe that gives him good results and i am attempting to track down the...
Thanks Hal!
I am in Canada so i cant order anything from BPI but i will try finding the components up here!
How tight do you find the wad/slug combo pushing through a rifled barrel?
I am working on a slug load for my mossy 500 rifled barrel and have tried the follwing wads with the lyman 525
