For range toys, the only thing I would consider is .223 or 7.62x39.
I really like the 6.8 for hunting.

If you convert the Ruger, take pictures and please post the process. I have been thinking the same thing.

Bolt, Barrel, and magazine are the only parts you need if you are building the same configuration. For example, carbine length gas and standard wt barrel.
Here is the question, are you planning on...

This past season my sons (9yo and 10yo) killed 3 pigs and 1 doe with a 300 blk carbine.
125 gr NBT's out to 135 yards and 2 of the pigs were over 200 lbs. 3 were one shot kills and very...

I'll check into that.
In the Houston area we had a major rain event (800 year or 1000 year) depending on who you listen to.
I got off real easy compared to a lot of people.

Just got off the phone with Ruger and they offered credit toward replacement. I said I would just keep what I have.
Their suggestion was to pull the pads and let them dry slowly.

For what you are looking to do either will work just fine. I would think the blackout would have the lower initial cost, but when you get past the barrel and dies everything should be the same.

Much appreciated. It isn't a bowling pin finish. It is a Sako AII. Hopefully the finish is ok. Just have to get the dirt and grime off to make sure.

I have been shooting stainless / synthetic rifles too long.
I just picked up a blue / walnut rifle, 30 - 40 years old.
The stock needs a good cleaning before I decide if the finish is ok.

I put the weaver bases on mine. About $5 each and they work just fine.

I picked one up also. I thought fit and finish was pretty good. Checkering was a little shallow as I had heard other places.

Wow.
So, sounds like you are getting some good expansion and penetration.
I have just put together a .300 blk. I have been hearing horror stories about no expansion with 150 grn + bullets....

Congratulations, little one should be good eating, Big one needed to be gone.
What kind of expansion do you get out of the SGK at TCU speeds?
I'm thinking about something along those lines...

What problems does the 311-165 have?
What did you do the the feedramps to take care of this issue?

Thanks
So, the flat nose doesn't pose a problem. The short nose length poses a problem.
I'm thinking about a blackout upper as a dedicated hog rig with cast.
Thanks again.
