Just a follow up gents. Just got back from the range. I had loaded up two different powders, each with three different incremental loads. All cycled well, so I'm a happy camper. No excessive pressure...

I love it when I make such a dumb error. Pulled up the wrong link. The purchase was not from CTD; it was from Graf & Sons.
My apologies gents!
See what happens when you get old!
LOL!

You obviously are aware of something that I'm not.

Just a note to say how pleased I am with this supplier. Hit the link from this site as I was looking for powder I had been unable to find locally for months and not only did they have it, but at a...

Well gents; I figured it out on the primer seating issue. Been using a Lee Auto Prime for years. I guess they wear out as well. Had a second small primer seater tray & exchanged trays & primers seat...

Good old Brother Earl in Gunsmoke, Texas! LOL Used to listen to him daily years ago.
Back to .223; I was wondering if anyone might share their favorite powder loads for .223 using various cast...

What brand are you using? The one's I'm seeing are pre-set.

Thanks for all the input; some very good points. I shoot a Ruger Mini 14 exclusively for .223. Have run into another issue that really has me confused. Never, in 40 years of reloading have I had this...
Forum: Cast Boolits
It's been years since I reloaded .223 as it used to be as cheap to buy as to reload. Times change. Decided I'd reload some but I am running into an issue when I attempt to crimp cases, and that is...

Thanks for the input gents. The 3.8 grns of Titegroup works great with the 130 grn cast RN & accuracy is good.
Forum: Cast Boolits
I appreciate all the input. Never would have tried it had Unique been in short supply at shop. Used Unique primarily for 30 years & will buy a 4 lb canister once shop gets it back in. Titegroup will...

Thanks!
The bullet I'm using is the Lee 125 grn RN but cast with WW, comes out to 129.6 grains. For years, I have always used Unique but when I couldn't find it bought some Titegroup. Was very...

Just wondering if anyone has used titegroup in 9mm luger & wondered how they like it.
I normally use Unique but have been unable to find any. According to Hodgdon website, using a 130 grn bullet,...

Shot the 310 grain bullet today loaded with 15.9 grains of 2400. I'm sold. loved it!
Thanks for the info. I have Lyman's 47th RL edition & the same data is in there for the 115 grain bullet. I primarily shoot 105 grn SWC or 125 grn RN, in the 9mm, although the 125 grn bullet comes...
Just curious on what powder charge you are using with Red Dot inyour 9mm & what kind of bullet? I shoot a lot of Red Dot in 45 ACP but have been unable to find reloading data for 9mm. I usually shoot...

That's interesting. Lyman manual shows max load at 16.6 grns of 2400 so if you had no issues then I feel comfortable on the seating depth issue.

Thanks for your help. Loaded up 20 rounds to see how it does. Will go from there & let you know.

Thanks for the heads up. Have had the pistol some 30 years so its an older gun. Probably had less than 1000 rounds through it, many higher power copper jacketed & so far no issues. To be perfectly...

Thanks so much for the quick response. Rarely do I ever shoot max loads in any gun, and never with cast bullets.
I was just a bit concerned about pressures with the slightly increased seating...
