One caveat. DO NOT dry fire these rifles. The one I bought had been dry fired and the chamber was peened. Would not chamber a round. Took it back to the gun store and they repaired it

Depends on which vintage M&H you have. While they all will accept a 44-40 case, there is a difference in bullet diameters between 44 Winchester and 44-40.

Any military firearm in the U.K. sold out of service is required to go through proof before it can be put on the civillian market. (even if it was on a military firing range the day before)

My No4 was converted to 7.62x39 by Black River Armory. Uses Czech single stack AK mags.

By the way is was a bubba job to start with, so no original rifle was harmed in the process.

Keep in mind a Lee Enfield is NOT an M16. Each magazine was fitted to the rifle and it was only to be removed when cleaning the rifle.
The ONLY Enfield that had a spare magazine was the Lee Metford...
