Yes, it is! I use the sister Blue Mag pellets currently.
Black Mag in my opinion, is much-much cleaner than Pyrodex. A great partner for inline shooters. I even like it better than Blackhorn 209....

Some of us don't judge a powder brand by bullet speed. Accuracy, availability nearby, % of mess inside the bore and price matters too in the decision.

Another vote for hotter primers like Federal 209A, CCI-Mag and Winchester 209. Another vote for Black MZ loose powder.

Do a Google Search on Doc White. Or go to gunbroker.com and do a search on used White muzzleloaders. Most of em' were built to shoot conicals.

You are somehow lucky to have all those muzzleloaders with big drums to accomodate those nearby rock-salt-sized granules of American Pioneer powder. Even the Pioneer FFF has abnormally large granules.

Offer them for sale locally for half-price. Or go buy an inline and bulk pistol / revolver ammo. You can buy 50-pk sabots cheap. Then find a place to shoot and have fun all summer-long, burning thru...

Granules are really large and the synthetic powder is a moisture grabber.
