Might be flawed logic but I am thinking I might be able to find load data this way.
77grain / 224 x 243 = 83 so round up to 85-90 grain look at 243 data and use minimum loads for the 243 e.g....

Sorry this one isn't about cast bullets!
I recently got a Savage 99 in 22-243, with a 1:8 barrel, I have lots of 77gr smk and so plan on shoot them. As its a wildcat of limited load data I am not...

Thanks for that, mine has a 26" mtu barrel so its pretty heavy but you still have a point 1600fps with heavy still wont be comfortable, might still do it with a few liadd just to see how well the...

Have you got 440s running fast?
I am thinking about shooting heavies in mine, getting accurate to make up a mold. A heavy bullet .350" in the case with either tapered groove design or a bit of...

Hi guys I am wanting to do a 35-90.
The idea going through my head at the moment is to use 45-90 brass and a 350 rem mag reamer run in .375" short. Using dies cut short too.
My only concern is...
Forum: Single Shot Guns
I had considered that but looking at the lack of taper on a 350 rem mag I think it would be a lot of brass removed.
Would work well with more taper.

Hi guys I was just wondering if anyone runs a slow twist 7mm rifle?
By slow I am talking 12 or 13 twist, and would it stabilize Sierra Varminter 100gr, Speer 100gr TNT, Speer SPBT 130gr, Speer...

I am seriously considering a 7x57r but bullet price is a problem.
For some reason 6.5 and 7 cost a lot more than 224 243 257 270 and 308 bullets.
I don't have a problem with normal cartridges...

I would like to do something like a 220 swift or 6mm br, but is a Ruger 3 good enough for the 6mm BR?
Or would I be better of do my 243 Howa in 6 mm br?
As I think the Ruger #3 is too small for...

I did think and still like the idea of one in 6mm BR, but is the Ruger 3# inherently a rifle accurate enough for such a thing?

A 38 Cal barrel was one that crossed my mind, would give me the choice of 38-55, 38-56, 375 NE or 375 H&H

Hi, guys I have been flitting between ideas for this one and I mean a whole myriad of different thoughts!
Like anything from 218 bee, 220 swift, 257 Roberts, 277 Weatherby Magnum, 7x57R, 300 Win...

The action is a large on I guess it was originally a 450-577, but was re done at the armory into 303 British!

Hi guys, I know that the M17 was based off the P14, but it was the US Enfield in 30-06 rather than 303!
If a rifle is an M17 in 303, is it likely its a M17 with a P14 bolt?

Hi guys, I was thinking about doing a martini in 40-70 sharps straight, has anyone done this or something similar?
My concern is about the length, will it make it around the turn, the case is 2.5"...

My Greener GP was made for standard 12 gauge, and has a "normal" firing pin. I know that the original 40-82 was a BP express for small bullets, but I am tempted to shoot stuff a bit bigger.
Forum: Single Shot Guns
Thanks for the replies guys, not sure if I want a slow twist for small and quick or a faster twist for heavy and slow at this stage.

Gee if a 577 2 1/2 works why wouldn't a 40-82 basically a 408 2 1/2"
Did the block need any altering?

I believe the GP was chambered in 12G 2 3/4" (70mm) so in theory anything with an COL of 2.75" should fit!

Very old post I know, but is it established that the 40-82 will not make the turn into the chamber?
