I took the rifle to a professional gunsmith to have the action glass bedded and the barrel floated because of the poor accuracy out of the box, he (the gunsmith) suggested the crown didn't look right...

FWIW, there's no magical qualities to "Lyman #2".........it doesn't nessesarily have to be the exact percentage of ingedients as long as you're consisent. It's basically lead with a little antimony...

I just paid $8 per 25lb bag of hard West Coast #8 shot, that's almost $2 a lb. Maybe reclaimed shot would be more in line with the price of WW?

You're not diluting the antimony 50%, ruff'ly speaking you're diluting it just over 5%. True.....that doesn't bring the antimony content in the alloy up to 5% but assuming Lymans figure of 4% for WW...

9 # WW to 1 # 50/50 solder } 10 # 2 alloy is Lymans own recipe (page #57 Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook, 3rd Edition).
