Westinghouse micarta is good stuff, and I have a good bit that I use in place of ivory for certain guns. Most of my guns get ivory fitted to them by me, but the ivory stash is getting low. Only 2...

A beater 40X action will run you $800. I guess the term beater is relative to the value of the item being referred to as a beater. Kind of like buying a beater SAA, which will cost you $800-$1,000,...

8 lb jugs of Red Dot are in stock several places online.
The Lee 175 TC is actually a pretty good bullet. I run them with 800X in my Delta Elite pistols.
I've used a boatload of small rifle primers with the SPP 45 acp brass. I really like to keep 500 to 1,000 pieces on hand as it gives you options.

I've been buying Federal Champion 525 bulk packs for $22.99 out the door for several months now.

The trigger on a 1911 is not a joke for a carry gun. Treat, never, keep, keep.

My wife had a Honda CRV through high school, and for the first 4 years of our marriage. We sold it when it hit 250,000 miles. All we ever did was required maintenance at specified mileage intervals....
Start another thread and we can discuss it instead of hi-jacking this one, please.
Shooting accurately directly translates. I said nothing concerning tactics. However, if you would like to discus that then a new thread would be better than drifting this one.
The OP was shooting at 25 yards. That is why we are discussing 25 yard groups and accuracy. Shooting well at 25 yards translates to shooting well to very well at 7 yards. It is not a vice versa...

Cast 296 200 gr SWC for the 45's. Then I re-filled the star with lube. That's as far as I made it.

The ingots look like RCBS ingots from an RCBS ingot mould. That is probably a steel drink or muffin cup ingot.
In the guns and ammo review, the pistol is shot at 50 feet. 50 feet is 16.66666666666667 yards.
In the personal defense world review, the average group was over 4 inches at 25 yards. Mas Ayboob...
I've had to really push the envelope with 200 gr bullets with 800X to get the bulge.

I suspected you would find a ring of lead. below are some options to fix it:
1. Get the barrel throated (best option)
2. Change alloy
3. Change bullet profile
4. Size even smaller
I have a hard time finding the meaning in your walls of text.
I find it incredibly rude to throw out the details of the possible trade as you have. How rude!!

Definitely look for it during your shooting session. If the throat is scraping off a ring of lead, then you should be able to see it after 15 rounds or so.

I would recommend against doing it. However, if you do decide to do it, please put it on youtube.

I used the lee auto disk for several calibers on my Dillon RL550B.

From the description of your problem, I would say that your throat is shaving your bullets. Do you get a rind of lead built up in the chamber?
4 inches at 25 yards with non-tailored ammo from that gun really isn't bad at all. I'd ask those fellas getting 2 inch groups at 25 yards to post up their targets...signed by witness...on video, lol....
I can shoot Glocks and 1911's very well. I also shoot revolvers and single shots pretty dang well. I practice with all of them. There is a correlation there somewhere.
