The WGRS is about as low as you can go. I used one on an 1894C with the factory front. Just screw out the aperture for a ghost ring.

Pretty much like I thought. Melting a Dutch oven of WW a couple inches at a time would take much longer than putting a pair of diagonal cutters on every suspect weight.

I often see it suggested that melting WW at temperatures lower than the zinc melting point would avoid the risk of contamination. Just as often I wonder how one controls the temperature on the bottom...

Regards the broken band concerns… as long as your face is farther from the release mechanism than the relaxed band length, it can’t hit you. You might take a whip to your arm, perhaps some crazy...

Isn’t the C frame just a stack of sheetmetal? Can’t you drill the hole pattern you need for the attach brackets you have?

I’d get a .40 bronze cleaning brush and spin it in a drill motor after letting the chamber soak in an inch of my favorite solvent for a couple hours.

My C309-150-F engraves rifling too. The lever closes just fine and the boolits don’t pull if I want to unload it without firing.

The Lee 358-150-1R in .38 Long Colt brass. Crimped in the groove it is smooth and fast loading. Because the boolit loads so deep, it is only a few thousandths longer than the typical Short Colt gamer...

Garlic powder and onion powder always have a fresh jar on the top shelf. When I take that jar down, it goes on the shopping list for replacement.
