For round balls, I only use spit on my patches. Seems to work and I’m not the only one doing it.

Something to add about electric razors, those pop up trimmers never worked for me.

The mini lathe forging may come from the same foundry, but different companies machine and assemble them. That’s where the quality control and prices come in.
