I'm currently working up a load with 2400. I started out with 16 and have now moved up to 18. Will go to 22 in 1 grain increments shortly. I'm shooting at 100 yards with a 210gr 311284 Lyman...

Much better, only .55/case. I keep on the hunt for once fired as I'm a second hand guy if there ever was one. In the meantime the 30-30 is for range use. Gets me really close without a lot of cost.

36.34/50 = .7268/case. In a crunch, yes, but with some effort, getting once fired is a much more frugal path.

I took the 311284 to the range today in my rem700 w/16.0gr A2400 @ 3.115" and achieved slightly over 1400 fps.
Kind of disappointed. Accuracy is great but I need to increase the charge to get up to...

Went to the range today with my pre64 Win94 and tried out some rcbs 32-170-FN w/14.0gr A2400 @ 2.520".
It's a shooter @ 100 Yds (longest distance at my range) with my 2X Scout scope. Chrono-ed...

He doesn't list the '94 as one he works on and at over 3K I probably could replace the one I have with a beauty without sending it to Doug.
Mine is a pedestrian pre64 '94 (if there is such a thing)...

Anybody got a recommendation? I'm not looking for a average gunsmith, but a Win94 expert if there is one out there.

Yup, it's a 2X, PN or Model or SN Z11001. I don't know what the number means. The mount is a Redfield M294.

Thanks. This is why I was asking whether or not the manufacturer 'recommends' this powder for reduced loads as I was shooting with 16.0 gr.

I wasn't thinking of reducing it. Just wanted to know if it was recommended by the manufacturer for reduced loads. When I looked at the min load in the books it was higher than 16gr.

I had a good day at the range today. I put together the following loads:

1) 20.0 grs of 5744 with a 311284
2) 20.0 grs of 5744 with a 311291
3) 16.0 grs of 2400 with a 311284

I shot the 5744...

Good to know. I was using the Cabintree and that is what I was getting. Just shy of #2.
