yes,
some pics would really help this thread!!
The sights got too hard for my old eyes to see well on my Vaquero. The blocky sights on the BHs are better for me to see.

I have a 1894s and it has Micro-groove rifling. I bought it around 2000 but haven't checked when it was made. It doesn't like 429 bullets. About 7 gr Unique works good with a 240 gr RNFP. ...
CZ 75, works like a 1911. good sites, may fit the hand better.

i've got to add about that short lead, even if the barrel locks closed be sure you can cock the hammer..... ask me how i know.....
The RCBS 250 comes out at 268 gr with range lead I have on hand!
I recently bought an OMSBH. Made about 1971. worn a bit, but has a great trigger. It got a Magnaport job along the way.
It was just under $400.

Modern Reloading by Richard Lee
I do like the Lyman manuals best...

Remember if you use the Lee factory crimp die it may size that bullet down below the 430 diameter inside the case....

I have the same rifle, Marlin 44s. It is Micro groove and needs at least 430 or 431. It is best with a FRN bullet to feed reliably. I've only used these with about 8gr Unique. All j word boolits...

I have a Marlin in 30/30 and a win 32 sp. I'd like to run a plain based bullet in each one. Just for range and possibly a light hunting load. any suggestions? The Marlin is micro groove.
thx
Skeeter always recommended 8 gr of Unique and the 240 gr bullet using magnum brass. Then go up from there if you need to. you wont need to worry about getting a hot one in a 44 special gun that way....
7.5 grs of Unique out of my Blackhawk with a 250 gr Keith is a handful. Not magnum level but you notice it. And that 250 casts at 268 gr for me so it's considerably heavier than the nominal...
