+1 on that Hi-Tek is not only a coating but it beats pc every time and once you follow the instructions is easier to do

Obviously the simplest way to go so +1
Also the coating, if wax will make for a good flux

Try a magnet, I’m sure rust will stick to

Just a suggestion, but for the sake of safety have you considered getting a mentor? Ramming a cartridge home until it’s in battery is far from safe, besides that would likely leave the powder coating...

Is the coating getting scraped when you are seating the bullets? Have you pulled one to check? But the coating is certainly staying intact when it’s hitting then target.

Nothing wrong either bullets getting squashed like that and the grooves being deformed. But I say again your coating should not look like that at all. It should be nearly 100% intact, it’s coming off...

I don’t have any to hand, but on my 10mm at similar velocities, or maybe higher, smokes powder or the Hi Tek I am now using stay near 100% intact, the coating that is. I wonder if your coating is...

Dunno about the grooves but clearly your pc isn’t stayin on as it should. Have you tried the smash test on the coated bullets? What the velocity your shooting?

I just bought a $17 hotplate from Amazon, it’s got a variable heat control, on number 5 on the dial it keeps a NOE five cavity mould at 360-370’degrees f indefinitely. So if I take a short break from...

I wonder why RCBS don’t have any Pro Melts?

I would love to build my own pot, but since I only want a bottom pour it would be a complicated task. My Lee works fine apart from the dripping, that I can put up with, but having to add ingots...

My local scrap metal dealer has tons of lead separated from all the other scrap and I can drive to the building were it’s kept and they will load. They also have tons of range scrap. No need to walk...

Yeh, $600 is more than I want to pay, so maybe I’ll just stick to the auto drip Lee.

I’m currently using a lee 4-20 and I’m thinking of getting a bigger pot so I’m seeking recommendations. The RCBS pro melt looks interesting but is currently not available in the 110 volt model. But...

I never have had a problem with live primers going through the deprime/resize die on my dillon press. Maybe I’m lucky.. I do wet tumble all my brass before reusing it, but I honestly don’t think that...

I would like to buy a quantity of 10mm cases, preferably once shot. I don’t mind cleaning them. I’m looking to buy at a fair price.
Thanks

I have bought a new ($17 ) hotplate from Amazon and it’s doing the trick nicely. I’m going to hook up a pid to it to accurately get the temperature to the recommended 400 degrees f. It will be useful...

I realize what fluxing does, but my question is what is the best temperature to do it? Is there a best temperature. A simple question.

There are lots of different ways to flux and what to use, but is there a optimum temperature to flux? ie after the lead has melted and before zinc etc has?
Thanks

You need to resize your boolits so they pass the plunk test first of all. Then ensure the OAL is correct

I wonder why no one had manufactured a specific heater for Moulds? NOE have a thermometer which can have a probe inserted into one of their Moulds. It would seem a logical next step to design a...
