Hi Guys,
Casted last night with a new Saeco 922 mold. It's a round nose bevel base design. Didn't realize it's kinda like an RNWC shape.
Used my RMR lead which is stated to have 2.5-3% Sb...
Hello Folks,
Just want to check back in. I was able to finally cast again after a 1.5 yr hiatus due to my health. I thought I would not be able to cast again but am so happy to be able to do...
Hello Folks,
Started casting again last night after 1 1/2 year hiatus. I was using a LEE 9mm, 6 cav mold.
When inspecting the mold this am, I could barely remove 1 of the screws that attach...
Thx guys for giving me sound advice. Yeah, this mold is a no go for how I want my bullets' coal and diameter. I think a Lee 120 gr TC mold may work better with it's shorter bearing surface and...
Hello Folks,
I'm considering this mold for my 9mm pistols. I'm hoping to be able to PC and size to .357-358". But in order for this to work in my pistols with a shorter leade, I would have to...
Shadow,
I think you may have an issue with your mold not being up to temp--at least 400 degrees IIRC. Your lead only needs to be in the 700-750 degree make good bullets. At 900 degrees, you will...

In my experience, no. When I start shooting pc'd bullets through a clean barrel, the barrel stays clean. When lead has already been shot through the bore, the pc'd bullets don't seem to remove any...
Thanks so much folks! Yeah, Lee asked me to send a pic. I went ahead and remove the bolt and bent the handles and it seems to have worked. Basically clamped each half in a vise and used my body...
Hello Guys,
Just wondering how common is this? Just purchased this handle from Precision Reloading. Their return policy according to their website doesn't look good so I'm hoping Lee would send...

Don't use any lube as well on my pc'd and non-pc'd bullets. My cast bullets are on the soft side though.
Harder bullets, water quenched, or bullet shape can affect how easily they push through...

Hello Guys,
Gave it another run tonight for an hour and the results are much improved. After I cut the sprue, I count to three. Then tap the bolt handle lightly while simultaneously using a...

Thanks Guys for the tips. Here's an update.
Given: mold is completely dry, polished the front band edges with steel wool and gray scotchbrite, used #2 pencil on the front driving band of mold,...

Hello Guys,
Have been casting using my new RCBS 200 gr SWC mold. My first casting session had issues with tinning on the edge of the front band. I judiciously removed all the stuck lead and...
Hello Guys,
Casted a few hundred rounds from my brand-new RCBS mold. I noticed tinning (or lead sticking) on one side of the mold half on the corner of the lube groove.
I tried using a...

I'm using the same lube. And I'm new to this whole casting thing. Mineral spirits have been suggested but it is not legal in my state.
After much research, I purchased and used this:...

Muser, I'm a new caster. Just purchased a rotometals thermometer at amazon a month ago that is priced better than what you are looking at.

It should work well TL or PC'd. When pc'ing, using a slightly higher velocity may work better compared to swaged loads. You may need to size to .358". Let us know how your bullets turn out.

Wow, those are very nice looking bullets. May I ask what type of lead did u use? Good job, btw.

Just got mine as well. The picture on the directions are inaccurate and should be updated.
The set does not come with a body bushing and push rod. Those have to be purchased separately when you...
I have the same mold. Idk as well why Lee would not currently offer a mold in .454".

This is truly an interesting thread. Shot 2 batches of my 1st PC'd bullets--Noe 234 gr RF TL. 4.5 gr BE. The tumble lubed bullets (using lsstuff alox) was more accurate and recoil was milder.

Although I'm a new caster, I thought you could have just applied the GC after powder coating. That way, you just size once.

RCBS has a huge backlog. I recommend signing up for a notification for an item you would like. I got mine after waiting a month for a bullet mould. However, it took them 3 wks to send it out.
