I work up loads for slugs/buck all the time, more to get a desired velocity or just trying to get the most economical load that will cycle my shotgun, but unlike metallic i do not substitute...

Just drop the charge down a couple of grains, you'll probably hit the velocity you want, you intended work your loads up right?

You want fast and hard or light and tactical? I use 20gr of green dot with rem gameload hulls, 12l wad and lee buck stacked by 2's,around 1150fps, cycled shotgun fine on starting load of 18gr. same...

I like my lee 00 mold, even ladle pouring i got complete fillout w/coww. I wish lee would make a 18 cavity mold in the .31. Stacking them by two's is no big deal really, its just bashing ammo anyway.
