OK, I'm back from the range. Still have all my fingers and such.
I learned some things. I learned I can push those PC'd and GC'd boolits to at least 2600 fps and no tumbling and no leading. The...

Finally got back at it recently; have a mold to produce boolits for my .270 Rem. I used a method I'd seen on youtube, drill holes in a piece of wood, line w/ NSAF, poke gas check shank through AF...

Sure! $150.
We're factoring in development costs, of course. Over time, the sets will come down in price, as we amortize R&D.

I have a spray bottle of isopropyl alcohol with a bit of lanolin in it--seems to work well. Most can go through but it just seems to me that if I can ease the passage a bit, that's better for...

I've been absent a while--new interest in brewing beer, lot of shooting, not much casting.
I've been trying to perfect a better system for PC'ing boolits--using a variation on Beagle333's nuts...

They are very accurate, certainly within the limits of my skill level. I'm always amazed at how little fouling there is--one swipe of a boresnake and usually the bore is shiny bright and clean.

Here are a couple pics showing Smoke's black powder. Gorgeous shiny black. Works great using ESPC. The other powders are his as well. The two on the right were tumbled just to see what the...

Can it be also used for Powder Coat or just Hi-Tek? We've never done Hi-Tek, and I've got a fancy Caswell powdercoating gun just waiting for a go at this.... :)

A friend of mine is a Purdue guy (there's no accounting for taste). However, their colors are Black and Gold and he'd like to PC some bullets in both colors.
I have some Black coming from Smoke,...

I'd look at a gift like that and be pleased to have more scrap to melt down. Unless you're absolutely without boolits to shoot, and have no time to cast anything new, why would this even be an...

Here are two options:

The first two are the same boolit--they're the 135 gr NOE mold designed for hi-tek coatings: ...

When you lay the boolits on their sides don't they end up w/ an uncoated stripe on them?

Some of this, for me, would depend on how much I needed it. I have a LNL AP, also have a Lee Classic Cast with the insert to accept LnL bushings.
I recently saw a LNL AP on sale for $379. ...

I'm using 5.0 grains of WST behind 200gr boolits in .45, and 5.5 grains of WST behind 180-grain Rainier bullets in .40.
I also use WST in my 9mm. For me, it's the all-purpose powder. :)

I've shot a lot of plated bullets and while the ideal is to just straighten the case wall back to parallel, a little bit of dent in the side of the bullet doesn't, in my experience, change much.

You may find with sharper edges on the washers that you're more prone to tearing the NSAF when you press it down. Seems like there's never a free lunch.

I have a particularly good use for WD-40. We put out our garbage at the curb in plastic garbage bags. On garbage day animals/birds will sometimes tear holes in the bag to get at what's inside.

I used self-tapping screws to create the pedestals; only problem is there's small rim on the head of the screw which doesn't allow enough friction with the boolit; it tends to slide off easily.

I use the Beagle method of small nuts epoxied to the tray and NSAF pressed down over the top of them. I'm thinking of a jig that will have holes that line up w/ the nuts, fits over the top of the...

If it turns out to be out of date, you can always cut off the bottom and use it for a casting pot. ;)

I use WST in my .45 ACP. About 5.0 grains seems to do the trick w/ 200gr powder coated boolits.
