I use that same bullet over 18gr 2400 in my 303's. As stated above, neck sizing will sure make the brass last longer.

Another expandable to look into, check out the Grim Reaper's. Very impressive results. Seen two deer shot with them, mine made it 40 yards, my brother's made it about 60 yards. Also worth looking...

I have always loved big bore guns. Call me crazy. Some of us just like it rough. I have used my 338 win mag for elk for years. Got a lever action 45/70 marlin. Instead of a wedding ring, I got...

I stumbled onto this video today, and to the rest of you I'm sure it is old news, but I found it extremely intriguing. Just wondering if any of you have tried it, and what were the results.

Forum: Boolit Lube !
Thanks guys. I knew alox was a no no for black powder, just hoping I could find a simple substitute that would work. I also have been dipping my bullets, so I guess I will continue to do so. ...
Forum: Boolit Lube !
I know this question must have been asked before. I did a search and read lube recipes until my head started to spin, but never found what I was looking for. So, is there a tumble lube like alox...

You got to love a casull. Nothing like it. My wife got me a super redhawk as a wedding gift back in 2000. A few weeks back I got a little crazy, loaded up some 405 grain bullets I resized to .452....

Thanks Edd, kind of what I figured, but it's nice to have someone with more experience confirm my suspicions. Thanks again. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, casting with two molds (when one...

Ok, I am a newbie. I have done all of the above, the problem I have is quite the opposite, if I am using a large mold, 45 cal 405 gr, or 50 cal 325 gr, the problem I have is the mold gets too hot...

This is actually quite a common occurance with the enfields. Check the headspace, but I will almost bet it is just fine. Enfields are blessed with very generous chambers. The theory was they would...

I loaded some cast bullets over trailboss powder in a 45/70, and they were very, very quiet. Keep them subsonic. Try a min load of trailboss and see if you approve.

I've been wanting a no5 for a while now. I have passed on a couple that were either in poor shape, or bubbad, price was between $350 and 375 on most all of them. I am holding out for the perfect...

Good news. I tried the Lee .312, and it dropped bullets at .314, perfectly round. I haven't had a chance to load any yet, I will post the results when I do. The bullets look promising.

My nephew has one. Very accurate, neat little gun. It will not extract ammo with steel cases. Other than that, not a bit of problem.

I figure it's not too big of risk. I have a few guns that need a .309 bullet as well. So if it doesn't work, I will size them down for those, and get the .314 lyman mold. I'll post my results.
Just thought I would report on a little success I had. I have just begun casting, and my first mold was a lee mold for conicals for my black powder revolver. I figured I'd start simple. So then I...
