I will check around at home for the data James used. I built the original molds for him way back when. He ended up gluing the first gas seal or wad onto the casting IIRC.

Might want to try punching your wads from the top of a foam egg carton. No drill press required and they shouldn't dent anything.

Field and Forrest Products out of Wisconsin. I bought ****ake spore from them 20+ years ago. Good place.
Make a new collet pusher for the Lee FCD collet. Just a length change based on the difference between the Badger and Mauser. Made a few of them when we were developing the round.

Try the MML+soap. It handles the warm temps better and retains the properties of the regular.

Step on it and bruise it up some, then hit it heavy with round up or 2-4D with some diesel fuel mixed in.

You said you were going to slug the barrel. Did you?
You can run a boolit diameter as big as will fit into a preferably once fired case irregardless of groove diameter. Slugging the bore will tell...

Search for "Hardcast416taylor" on this forum. He is no longer with us, but has a lot of good information on the 416 Taylor. I designed and built one of the original boolit designs he used. I now own...
You can also resize a .358 jacketed bullet through a Lee sizing die for use in the Legend.
Michigan says 35 caliber minimum. 1.18(?) Minimum, 1.80 maximum length. Straight walled, but doesn't say parallel walled.
Both .354 and .358 are 35 caliber.

I have a larger All American pressure cooker. One thing you would have to rig up is a thermocouple in a pressure tight fitting. No way to measure oil temperature otherwise. I'm sure Sanders burnt up...

357Maximum was the originator of MML, MML+soap, and Satan's lube or 666. MML was the first in his quest to solve the first shot flyer issue. It could be called a more modern Lithi-Bee lube. MML+soap...

I still have and use Unique for non-progressive reloading. I use AA#5 and BE86 as a substitute when running my Dillon's.
MGM has the Badger reamer for their Encore and Contender barrels. The original reamers were made by Manson in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

Pull the decapping pin out of your sizing die and resize a few to try it out. Makes pulling easier.

Not in a Handi, but I shoot 225 grain GC (no GC) in a Ruger 77/357 with a 1:16 twist. Loading subsonic, shooting surpressed. Stabile past 300 yards. I have also shot a 275 grain bullet subsonic. Was...

Polish the Lee collet neck die spindle down a thousanths and try again. That's what the collet jaws force the case neck against.
If you have an actual 30 Badger chamber, it was designed around 38 special brass. One trip through a 30 Mauser die and done. No trimming required.

I had a minor issue with the trigger not resetting now and then during the first couple hundred rounds. Upped my powder charge a couple tenths and it went bye bye. By minor i mean it happened twice....
Forum: Factory Rifles
I agree. The trigger is what it is. A mediocre trigger has never held me back. Mine was not terrible, around 5 lbs or so. I wasted a half a box of Federal FMG at 50 yards a saw 2 1/2-3" groups....

I put a RAR Predator action in a Magpul Hunter stock, so essentially the same thing. The medium height comb will not allow the bolt to be removed. The lowest comb insert will and I have better scope...
Forum: Factory Rifles
Yeah, I forgot to mention that I did much of the same. New trigger, free float, and a couple thousandths of bolt shims.
Forum: Factory Rifles
When I first got mine I tried a full velocity GC bullet of around 160 grains. Alloy was 50/50 WD at 22 bhn. No joy. Tried 2400, 296, Lil Gun, and 300MP. I then seated a plain based bullet backwards...

I've been processing brass for the last month or so and ran into a few cases with too thick of a rim. Don't recall what caliber or brand. I chucked the case up in my cordless drill and laid a small...
