I need a replacement pair of grips/scales for my 1950s pencil barrel .38 and do no mind a used, plain wood set.
I also need the brass mounting screw and nut for the grips, if available.
Cheers
I just want to pass on that I've found the Precision grip WERA 3.5mm 118012 screwdriver to be the perfect form to remove Slide-Plate Screws without damaging them, from the Model !0.
Unlike many...
I still use a Lee auto prime with the round tray design. I have yet to have one go off but I only load 20 primers at a time. I prefer CCI but I've used Remington and Winchester too. I recently found...
I simply soak/wash my deprimed brass in hot water with Dawn dish detergent. It works in large and relatively small plastic jars with lids, depending on brass size and volume. For just a few handfuls...
I carry condition 1 and 0, as reaction time is something I need to take full advantage of, especially as I get older.
I will carry a safety-ed pocket gun but not without a soft nylon holster. I...
I recently bought a few 50 ct. MTM red boxes but after one fell, full of heavy .44 mag rounds, and the top cracked badly in several areas, I went ahead and wrapped a couple of layers of duck tape...

You might contact a local shooting club and see if one or two of the members are willing to let you try the presses you are asking about.

Enjoy you new press and nice weather. I used mine once to reform .284 Win cases to 7.5 Swiss; didn't have any real difficulty but there are 'better' presses to do that type work with.

I have the Lee machine and though most of my reloading kit is Lee product, I selected my set-up for value, function and safety, in any order you might care to consider. I also have RCBS, Redding and...
I zero my RCBS 505 on a level surface, set my load weight on the scale, then use a single dipper to throw as close as I can. I use a Redding trickler, mounted on top of a Harbor Freight pocket size...
The barrel looks fine, no pitting, didn't see any bulges or excess wear areas. I have been looking at getting a 38/357 Ruger or S&W Model 60, with a long view toward a purchase, when I came across...

I'm a little surprised no one mentioned a deadfall. One or two heavy steel plates from the scrapyard, a fast graphic, spraycan paint job and you've got yard art with an action element.:kidding:
158332Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking it would be OK without checks but this thread has been so informative, I had to ask the question.
I am sure Bubba has been into this revolver, two...
I have to say, this thread has been a real education for me, thanks to all who have contributed!
About a week ago, I put a S&W model 10 on layaway at a local pawn shop; it's my first .38, a 4"...
I just found a small cache of Federal primers, LP and Magnum Pistol, as well as Small Rifle, LR, etc.
Too many not to use, though I am happy with CCI offerings; has anyone here noticed a...
Thanks for the feedback guys!
I really like this bullet, but have yet to find the 'sweet spot' with my Ruger and, I do want to shoot more often with the .44 special and magnum, for distance and...
My RCBS 44-250 K mold drops straight wcww at 266 grains, has anyone a pet Unique, Blue Dot or 2400 load for a light 44 special or magnum and middle of the road 44 special or magnum rounds with...
Yes, an Ideal 358156 for the 38/357 I still don't own yet. Reputable a great cast bullet and mold for a first handshake with a new to me caliber.

Thanks for the test result 303Guy, it's good to know the freezing of paper works for you. Please keep us updated on your work with these patches.
This is just speculation on my part but I think...
Forum: Smokeless Paper Patching
Actually this is a very simple set-up, make it and you just feed it strips of paper cut to width. After the first cut on a strip, just slide the angled cut end up to your marking for that caliber...

Excuse me if this has been covered before but instead of complete templets, how about using a small paper-cutter like this Friskers trimmer?
Using carpenters double-sided tape or hot glue, fix it...
I'll also suggest a Super Blackhawk in .44. You can load up .44 Russian, Special, and Magnum and a Keith 250 grain bullet will serve well enough in all three cases.

cbrick, thanks for the tips, it's appreciated.
As for the wax/lube, this seemed to me to be a good way to keep the COW where it belongs while waiting to use the prepared cases.
It will be at...

Good stuff 303guy, thanks for the pics and info, this helps a lot. I don't want to try glue so I'll start with the 45º and work my way across several other angles each way in, lets say 5º...
