I found a Lee 6.5 170 gr mold. I wanted to try it in my M96 Swede. I cannot find any load data for a 170 gr cast. Anyone here familiar with that mold?
Thanks

I found the problem..................................stupidity! I was trying to get all my dies and powder measure set so I was running brass through on dry runs. I did get all of it set up and...

Thank you. I have ordered a RCBS shell holder but was hoping to find a fix before it arrived. I think it is the shell holder.

I have the above press and I am getting it set up to load 9mm ammo. When I bring the ram down and prime the case the primer seater sticks in that position in the ram. I can jiggle the case a little...

I have a beautiful 1903 sporterized '06 and a 788 in 308. The deer that they killed never knew which one of those rifles did the deed. Also have 2 Remington 721 rifles in 270, 722 in 222 & 257...

Good looking rifle! Mine came back to me Saturday as a 358 Winchester. I hope to start load devlopment this week but we are in 95+ degree days now. May have to put it off as it is hard to see through...

I think I got 243winxb. I made 5 dummy rounds and they are chambered except the last one, every time. I stuck my little finger in there too feel any sharp edges and the edge of the feed ramp drew...

Detachable plastic mag. It was a 243 in its former life.
I thought about making the opening in the mag a little wider so the cartridge would pop out earlier in the push stroke. It would end up...

Thank you.
It is a Mossberg Patriot. The bullet is catching the top edge of the camber. It is a flat point bullet and I am already considering another bullet design. I would chamfer the barrel a...

I have 358 Winchester that I just had re-bored. When I try load from the magazine the cast bullet jams against the barrel. If I drop a round in on top of the mag it chambers correctly. When I remove...

I acquired some beeswax today from a local apiary. I was using a commercial flux compound recommended to me. I sort of created a slurry on the top of the lead, not what I was used too. I am going to...

Thank you. I forgot to add the pot had been stored empty for several months sealed in a plastic bag. I will drain and clean.
Used it for the first time today and you can make a pile of bullets quickly. And they come out of the mold at + or - .360". I have 358 Win in the works at JES re-boring and hope it will shoot these...

This is Lyman #2 and it was smelted and fluxed by me, fluxed several times. When I melted it in my Lee pot I get what you see coming to the top. Is some of this tin? I have fluxed it several times in...
None of my loading manuals list a load for the 311284 with IMR 4895. I thought I saw several months ago someone using that combination with good results. Could someone recommend a starting load to...

Four fingers, I hope you like the stock as much I do. It is the best fitting stock I have ever had.

I just sent a new Mossberg Patriot to JES that will become a 358 Win. Why? I love the Patriot stock/comb design as it is a great fit for me. I also plan for it to be a cast bullet gun exclusively...
Forum: Case Forming / Re-forming
Thanks. I may try trading the 243 for 358 (or 308) first.
Forum: Case Forming / Re-forming
I know that is a big change. Will the brass reform that much w/o splitting. How would you go about this?
Thanks, BL
Thanks, I will try all of these great ideas and I will order some linotype.
thanks, I will try beagling, sizing and shooting and then on to lapping if that does not work.
Beagling? I guess I have missed that term. Please explain & thank you.
Thanks everyone. I am using Lyman #2 but I will add a little more tin to the mix. If that does not work does the lapping mean to use a bullet and valve grinding compound?
