Those are some good looking slugs that they offer!
I have been loading 000 Buck for no less than 30 years for hog hunting, and have excellent results with it.
I am not sure of the company name, but there is a company overseas that use the Active hull exclusively for their target and hunting loads in both 12 ga. and 20 ga..
I use to load a 1 7/8 oz....
Activ use to make an all plastic hull, and when available, was the only hull I ever loaded. Wish I had no less than 100,000 of them right now!
I bought my rifled choke tube from Hastings last year, and the lady I bought it from said that once they were all sold, they won't carry them anymore.
If you know of anyone that shoots a Hastings...
Randy,
I have a 6" long extended rifled choke tube for my barrel, and would try that first, before tying up any money in a fully rifled barrel that would only be used a couple of times a year for...
I have a Hastings Wadlock barrel I would like to try a couple of these slugs in...
I look forward to your smooth bore testing, and thank you for doing this!
Accuracy looks great!
I do hope the smooth bore testing looks promising though, and I do not have a rifled barrel.

I have been looking around, and about the only thing I can find is from the old website where guys were not having very good luck with these slugs.
Hopefully when I get a chance to get on my...
What is the difference between the two slugs pictured?
Would these slugs offer any type of decent accuracy in a smooth bore barrel?
Do you have a website?
I have a couple hundred of the 2 3/4" Federal Hi Power 20 ga. hulls if you could use them.
From everything that I have read, I would like to try just the .736, and with it being a couple thousands over bore diameter, I think it should work great!
Not as cold as where you are for sure,...
I would like to try your .736 if you are offering.
magasupermagnum,
lot's of good information there, thank you!
I can limit the maximum ball diameter to .740 and work down from there.
Considering the barrel that I am using, what size round...
Thank you for the information Longbow!
I was hoping to find some round balls between .734 and .744 to try out, without having to purchase several molds just to see which one offers the greatest...
I am wanting to get a bore riding round ball mold, but I do not know how much oversize I can go with it.
The bore/groove diameter on my Hastings Wadlock barrel is .728/.732
I have several...
We have 2 of these presses and like them a lot. Never had a single issue with either one of them, and they both have several thousand rounds through them.
While these RCBS presses are not on par...
I also get the best accuracy from the 494 gr. slug, and I use 1 1/8 oz. load data as well.
I use Red Dot, Green Dot, Unique and Longshot at various velocity and pressure levels, depending on the...
I fill my slugs from the same Russian Svorag Diablo pellet slug mold, using a hot glue gun, and it produces consistently more accurate slugs vs. non hot glue slugs.

That is one good looking roll crimp, and a VERY nice 50 meter group!
Already looking forward to future reports.
