Your problem is not the ammo, but rather the gun. My one short chambered rifle shoots .5-1" 5 shot groups at 25 yards, and so far, minute of dead pig out to a measured 38 yards with one shot. It is...

I've shot BHN 12 gas checked 180 gr with a Model 94 .30-30, no leading at ~2100 fps. BHN 10 up to around 1750 fps, no leading. I'm cautious about fit more than alloy. Referenced BHN 10 loads shoot...

7-1/2 or 8, end of story.
OTOH, I rediscovered something about 25 years ago. Having an interest in saving money for clays shooting I started loading the 12 ga with 7/8 oz #9 shot. It worked...

At the risk of sounding sacrilegious, you might try a round ball. I shoot a few from a .30 cal CF wildcat I put together. .310 diameter, sized to .309", wee bit of SPG lube smeared on the ball. No...

Never had any problems with it, but was not impressed even a little. I shoot CCI SV with reasonable performance in all of my rifles. The 10/22 dotes on WW Power Point when high precision is desired...

Don't have a 150 grain .30 mould, but do have a couple of ~180 grainers. My .30-30 is quite comfy pushing the Lyman 311041 to ballpark 2,100 fps. 12 BHN, boom-flop.

They are a nuisance for sure. My ‘dillo eraser is a T/C carbine chambered for shorts. I use BB caps and they are 100% effective. The neighbors don’t have a clue.

I don't find them anymore difficult to cast than other bullets and have done so for a .22 K-Hornet and a small .22 RF clone that uses CF primers. I would not do it with a Lee mould as they are...

Simple path? Round ball sized to accept a thin patch, maybe .005" thick without significant compression. Use a foam plug to keep your powder where it belongs.

Killed many in 'Nam, never ate one. One of my buddies nailed one with a 2.75" FFAR. Piggy was on the run, but his rocket impacted directly under the pig's belly. Weren't anything left for the mess...

I have a very old damascus 12 ga double that loves about 80 grains of 2F and an ounce or so of lead shot, or even a single/double round ball of about .60 caliber. Patterns nicely, recoil is mild and...

Have been using a Lee tester for a long time and find it perfectly useful. Whether or not it is spot on is irrelevant to me. What matters at the end of the day is how well the end product flies. ...

Have whacked more that a few with .22 BB caps. One shot, flop. Shorts work well also.

My 77/44 didn't shoot jacketed bullets well either. Purchased in 1999. Would shoot 3-4" groups at 50 yards. Patched lead was the schizzle....

Some years ago a fella named Matthews authored a book called The Paper Jacket. His thoughts were quite productive insofar as my first dabbling with the adventure. I loaded for a Ruger 77/44 with 300...

Suggestions: Use a flat bottom pie pan with a smooth layer of aluminum foil on the bottom and sides. After the lube congeals put it in the 'fridge for about 30 minutes. Remove from pie pan, peel...

If you’re paper patching for smokeless you need groove diameter not bore.

My suggestion would be to go with the softer alloy. In general I use nothing harder than 12 BHN for most CF rifles, except that I paper patch with pure lead. It is accurate and deadly.
