What was the Cricket hurling them at for velocity? If 17.7" twist is marginal, I guess the Condor is out of the question at 17.71" twist?
167946170 yds with a Lee 310 and H110. I think the 44 is plenty of gun for elk.

All nice guns and way more accurate than I am. All have taken their fair share of Jack Rabbits, but I'm kinda partial to the Condor for...
Well, for starters, sounds like 44MAG#1 should get some better friends if they're talking behind his back. My friends don't because they are few and true friends. The rest are merely acquaintances....
Figured I'd ruffle a few feathers, but those who didn't interact with him on a regular basis don't know any better. He wasn't any different than the blowhard you all know that was there and did that...
The 38/357 deal belongs to Phil Sharpe. A person that also gave birth to the bullet that Keith twisted into his own, but you never hear nothing of that.
Truth be told, Keith's hunts were mostly...
Well, I guess you would have to know people that had to deal and put up with him on a day to day basis to understand where I get this. It's funny how people perceive him just from what he put on...
several all people who knew him also knew that he was full of dung and a lot on the loopy side. There's a reason he always wore a big hat and tall boots with his pants tucked inside.
That buck was killed up the Pahsimeroi. This elk was about a mile from the bridge by the junction of hwy 75&93.
"Hunting just starts with the .44. Even it starts to lose at 100 yards or over. I prefer 25 yards or less and to think I would shoot at a deer at 200 is foolish, no matter the caliber."
I don't...
He is a little like a gorilla. Good fat on and in him. I don't think I'll get a bigger one in my life up here, so he will get a European mount and go on the wall.
153715153714150'ish yds. 44 Mag. When the gun went off he never took another step. Wasn't a cast load, but it was a wheel gun. Should be good eating since he still had a mouthful of alfalfa.
Nope, Oops because a 44 is pretty marginal for elk at any distance according to a lot of people. I think it's done just fine for me.
Thanks guys for all of the positive replies. I was pretty confident out to 150 from shooting sticks and I figured another 20 yds was doable fairly easy. It was a pretty steep downhill angle and the...
It used to be a Ruger SBHH Bisley, but I did a little work to it. The barrel is a Mcgowen. Scope is a Bushnell Ellite 2-6X32.

That's a way cool buck. Congratulations on a job well done.
Wished I had that on Sunday when I my cow season opens.
That's nice that you can keep the weight down on them.
Well, unless I come into some money, I'll just have to keep squeezing my single actions for more accuracy and whatnot.
