Try using on neck tension and no crimp on some hot 44 mag loads out of a red hawk with out a crimp and see what happens. Good luck turning the cylinder after the third shot.......

What if the jackets were bonded to the core? I've recovered other slugs on 40's and 45's that had almost 97% weight retention. That would be the glue.......

I've heard of similar problems with thin jackets on the varmint rounds. From what I've found, the extra pressure in the can causes issues with the thin jackets.
