I probably should have just kept this all in a single thread. Oops. If the mods want to merge them, that's okay with me.
If anybody's interested, I posted a follow-up to this in another thread about my intial experience with the steel sizer and the performance of the loads.

greenjoytj,
Thanks for your input. I haven't yet tried annealing. I'll keep it in mind.
I forgot to mention that I'm shooting these in a new model Blackhawk.
Well, I sized 100 cases with the RCBS steel sizer. I used the One Shot spray, because I already had some. As long as I use enough, it seems to work fine. The first dozen were a little squeaky and...
Thanks for all the input, folks.
I'm thinking that this thread should have been in the "Reloading Equipment" forum. Sorry about that, Mods. Feel free to move this.
There is also Hornady Unique Case Lube. According to Hornady, like the One-Shot it does not affect powder or primers. Anybody using that?
Thank you hc18flyer. So far, one vote for home brew, one for One-Shot and one for Imperial. Guess I could have done a poll.:-P
M-Tecs,
Thanks. I like the idea of the spray because you don't have to clean it off. I even use it sometimes with the carbide die, because it makes it smoother and easier. I agree about the...
Howdy all,
For those of you who use a steel sizer instead of carbide for your 45 Colt, what lube do you recommend? Is Hornady One-Shot spray sufficient, or is it better to use something like...

Thank you country gent. You posted while I was writing. What you described is a lot more like what I had in mind. I just need to find something like that out here, with specific types of rifles.

ulav8r,
Good idea.
Chill Wills,
I will look into that at Ben Avery. I see now that what I originally had in mind is something that maybe doesn't exist. Oh well.
Thanks again for the replies.

rfd,
After market peeps seems like a great solution. I can see that it's higher than the stock sights. Maybe just enough to make all the difference.

Here's a question for those of you who have one. I've been reloading and shooting revolvers for years, but never owned a rifle. I was considering one of these Henrys for my first. When I handled...

Thanks, fellas.
Nobade,
Thanks for the offer. Funny you should mention that. Before moving to Az, I lived in Albuquerque for 11 years. Used to shoot at the public range on the west side. ...

Thanks again MT Chambers. Something to think about.

Thanks, guys. I think it's possible that my question is being misunderstood. I don't own any rifles like this. I want somebody else to provide a rifle that I can shoot, along with some...

Thanks. That's my local range, but I didn't know they offered anything like that. I think there are clubs and competitions, but I figured most of those guys have their own rifles. I'll have to...
