Really interesting, jmorris. Can you post a pic of spent cases?

I've not gotten into loading for .357 sig, but that exact bullet is my abosolute favorite to PC for 9mm. Works a ton better for PCing than RNs with my method of PCing.

Cast about 300 on one day...next day the all get PCd and sized right after if i have time.

I've been using a cheap (non-convection) toaster oven this last year. Matter of fact, it's the old one from my kitchen. ( It's replacement was like $20 at Walmart. ) No added precision...

My method involves coating bullets twice (bottom/bands first, top/bands, last) so I'm looking for any shortcuts, timewise. As soon as i see the PC go slick through the glass door, out they come. ...

I got what I consider terrible results using the BB method. Lumpy, uneven coating and tonging them to the bake tray was a pain. I do electrostatic and love it. Great finish and I can do 160 at a...

I cover the cook tray that came with my toaster oven with the nonstick foil. Stuff works great. It is also conductive, so it works with my electrostatic PC gun. The foil works with shake and back...

That is what I did. The old one in the kitchen was getting kind of janky looking anyway. New one from Walmart ($21) is in the kitchen....the old jacked up looking one cures powder coat at the shop....

My LLM came with 9mm dies as kit. The only real problem (other than me being a total noob at reloading) was a warped shell plate. Lee remedied that quickly.
I reprime off the press. Not...

That would my same experience with dealing with Lee CS. Polite, professional and quick to make something right. I had warped shell plate. A new one was in my mail box in less than a week after I...

Forgot to mention that I like the foil because I use a HF gun to PC my bullets. Better conductivity, though judging by the inch and a half sparks I've seen the HF rig throw, parchment paper might...

I've seen the filters on our PC set up. You might harvest a good bit that way. And a bonus...it will be finest/lightest powder from the source material.

These guys are right..the nonstick foil is the way to go. Dull side up.
BTW, that bullet is the same one i PC. Liking it so far.
Those look great. Lot better than anything i made using the...

My push though die left lead discoloration on my first PC's. After some use the PC'd ones eventually cleaned the residue out of the die.

jnren,
Interesting idea. Like the way you think.

The frost is rough. At work, those guys rough slick steel up right before a PC. That is why I brought this up.

Washing is an additional step, I concede, but acetone or some such dries fast.
Frosty bullets may actually speed up the process because it usually is a sign you're casting too fast.

Good score. I know a fellow who handles large scale industrial PC. I get 'scaps" from leftover drums they chunk...a Dixie cup full, here, another there. I think I have maybe 4 lbs total in five...

PC will NOT chip off...
Well, yes it can. I've seen it on a rare occasion in my PC experiments. I've also seen PC chip off because of improperly prepped surfaces at work. (PCing steel). That is...

I've got several colors, but I'm still working on using up the red I have. One is a dark earth color. That will be all "tacticool and operator" looking as compared to the cute little lipsticks I've...

I don't know, but as soon as I run all this current alloy out, I'm going to try it for some 9mm and MLer projectiles. I have a good bit of pure on hand and if the pure ones run well in my 9mm's,...

Thanks, Roger. I will write that down in case that info is needed one day.

I'm not an old salt like most of these guys, but I have started PCing with a Harbor Freight PC rig. The only two molds I have for my 9mm are Lee's. One is the 566-125-2R (round nose, flat base) and...
