I just picked up a S&W Model 29-2 44 Mag 6 inch, a true Dirty Harry piece.
I am looking at Lee's SWC 240gr and their RN 240gr molds. Should I go lighter, or heaver or what... I am wanting input...

Ditto the hotter mold.. I dip the corner of my Lee mold down in the lead to heat it up. Even then it sometimes takes 4 or 5 cast's to get it hot enough..
Good luck..

Good lookin boolets there !!
My 10 pound Lee pot will get to dripping from time to time but a little twist with a screwdriver on the rod (mine has a slot in the end, I assume all do) and it will...

Glad you found your problem !!
When I get lube under my boolet, taper base, I cut a piece of egg carton with a shell and put under the boolet, it seals it off pretty good..

I bought some casting equipment and some factory cast boolest that a neighbor had. I got 500 158gr SWCHP-.358 500 158gr RN-.358 and 500 125gr RN-.355. I tried cleaning some up with acetone...

I use straight COWW. I cast the Lee 452-230-TC for my M&P in front of 4.5gr RedDot.
I cast Lee 452-200-SWC for my XDs in front of 4gr RedDot.
Forum: Cast Boolits
The Lee 452-200-SWC shoots very good in my XDs but would not feed well in my M&P, it failed 20% of the time. I went with Lee's 452-230-TC for my M&P and it functions great and is very accurate over...

I use RedDot for my 9, 357sig and 45acp, because I found 8lb of it.. Years ago I made a baffle and put in my RCBS measurer and I have never looked back.

I built my home on 17 acres and placed it on the property where there would be a 100 yard range off the patio..

I got that email and that's a good deal ! I usually call in an order and stop by and pick it up when traveling to MusicCity. Sales tax is higher than Ky but no shipping..

I tried the 105 in my Smith M&P9 and couldn't get it to chamber reliably. I took boolits I had powder coated and tried them in my Lone Wolf 357sig barreled Glock 23. I am loading 6gr of RedDot with...

Ditto on the above post's. I sawed some yellow pine 1/4" thick and stir with those, they last much longer than the paint sticks.
I don't know if I should have or not but I cut a piece of thin...

I agree with all the solvents mentioned above. Maybe try soaking with Kroil, it might get under the brass.

I shook mine a time or two, last time I didn't, couldn't tell any difference. I rub my cool whip tub on a scrap piece of carpet and stopped using the forceps. I now use the blue gloves, forget what...

I usually clean mine in Acetone except for the last batch I just finished a few minutes ago, no problems. My home machine shop is air conditioned and I usually go down early and turn the air on to...

I had a couple hundred 358 105 SWC from COWW, that I had PCed with HF red, for my M&P 9. Well the Smith wouldn't shoot them, in spite of everything I tried. Now this little SWC is straight sided...
