Metal dealers in my county won't take copper wire here due to thievery.
I was cleaning out my garage and found a large box of wire remnants of assorted lengths and gauges too small to be of any...

I use a cast iron PRC imported sauce pan I found at the CVS in Truckee, CA. It easily accomodates four large muffin size ingots.
I like this technique for gutting

A pal has a few gallons and wants to be rid of the stuff. The cans are heavy!
If there is a way to do it, I'd be happy to help but I'm not exactly sure if it can be safely done.
Anyone try this?

Maybe round nose boolits wouldn't be as hard on the tree ring/self sealing contraption as my SWCs?
Hmmm....I might need to get some new mold blocks?

I won't be able to test this until after the new year, but I wonder how one of those rubber mulch tree rings would work as a self-sealing material 210385

This is an ongoing project spurred by changes in CA State laws.
As I'll be reloading nearly all my range ammo in 2018 because of the imposition of additional fees, I'd like to have a bullet trap...

One of the first Lee Classic Cast, and my first press ever, an RCBS Reloader Special I bought new around 1982. For 12 gauge, An old MEC 600 Jr I bought out of a guy's PU truck bed in a Factory...

I'm looking for accuracy. I already have a Keith type 245 gr. (Lyman) mold. I was wondering what other designs have a reputation for bullseye accuracy in the .44?

RCBS Reloader Special, came with .38/357 dies and still have it.

All very interesting points to consider.
I've read reviews where one shooter recommends using .451 balls, while another .454. It would seem that Pietta's actual specs are all over the field then!

Pietta 1858 Remington New Army, from Cabelas?
I've wanted to get into target shooting with a cap and ball revolver
and just about everything I've read on the internet recommends the 1858.
What do...

I've got one of those. A good press for handgun ammo. Get a carbide resizing die if you'll be loading straight walled cases (.38, 9mm, .44, .45 etc...)

Thank you! I sent Lee an email and will report what I learn from them.

I was thinking of loading 148 gr lead wadcutters.
I happen to have a generous supply of .38 Spl. wadcutter brass.
This brass is made for taper crimps, and low velocity target wad cutter loads...
It's an aluminum cupcake mold for me. Cheap to buy and no complaints, although an ingot from a proper ingot mold sure looks classy.

Their purpose? They punch nice round holes in paper targets for accurate scoring. Also, some give the flat bullet nose a lot of credit for doing damage to critters.

Is that paint over spray or is it corrosion? It's hard to tell from the pictures

I've been using my old Coleman double burner propane stove that bounced out of the bed of my pick up and looks so ratty I didn't mind assigning it lead duty.
I've got the 245gr Keith cast from the Lyman mold #429421. My sample of 240gr LSWC are from Hunter's Shack as I don't yet have a mold for those.
The minimal extra weight of the Keith, I'm guessing,...
