Most Federal is a harder brass. I stopped reloading it about 5 years ago when I had to send a .308 die in to RCBS to remove a stick case. They suggested to avoid loading Federal cases so I stopped...

Thank you all for the info. I will call around. If there’s another avenue for someone wanting to reload I’d gladly give it up. I just didn’t want to toss it out.

Hey all,
Does anyone know of a place that I can dump off used brass for money$$? I have about 10-15 lbs that I won’t reload. All mixed .223, .30-06, .30-30, .35 Rem, .9mm, .40 cal, etc. Most of...

Hey all,
I recently lubed, sized and loaded some .45 ACP. Still being new to casting my question:
How critical is it to re-lube again after sizing? If it's critical, I have 100 round or so to...
I appreciate your time. Been loading .45 ACP so long I felt like I had to start over and learn all over. Never have used a crimp die and all of these dummy rounds I’ve loaded drop right into my...
I’ll go through and check that process. Usually arfer I resize the drop in the guage easily. So I spot check after the expander and they still drop right in. Maybe expander isn’t open quite enough...
I don’t have a crimp die and have never used one.
What’s the 45-45-10 form?
Thanks
My expander will adjust to over bell where the casing won’t drop all the way into my guage. So I set it to open as far as possible w/out hanging up in the guage. If you’re saying my barrel is the way...
Semi wad cutters 200gr actually the lead seated down to the bevel flush so no lead touches the rifling.
So I cast my 1st bullets and have finally had a chance to load this weekend. Went thru all of the steps to prep -

Uniformity is something to strive for with any reloaded ammo. Unsized boolits aren't usually uniform...while you...

Is a resizer an absolute must use or am I safe to load without? I’ve checked several and they measurement differs. I cast .452 - 200gr and the measure from .452 to .453.

I'm in Mesa, AZ if you know someone in the area here. I'd definitely go for a little mentoring.
Thanks

Hey guys, thank you for the info. I’ll definitely try some different combinations this weekend. I’ll also try keeping a full pot and see how that works.

Lubing before loading. Any preferences for brand or type of lube?
Also the sprue plate screw on my new mold won’t budge. Feels like I’ll strip the screw head if I try to force it. I could put in...

Thanks. Good advice here. Will cast more this weekend and try some different methods and see what kind of consistency I achieve.
And Grmps, I actually started so I can shoot more, lol!

Thank you so much for the info. I can't tell if the lead I have is a mix of alloy/lead. I'll dial it down a bit and try again.
