I had a bad week. Thursday my father past away and to keep my mind sane I smelted all the lead I had in order to stay busy. Ended up with 1150 pounds 795 lbs of soft lead and 355 lbs of wheel...

.i buy range scrap for 50 cents a pound. I bought 400 lbs and smelted it in 3 hours. I got 271 lbs of lead and 83 lbs of copper and brass jackets. I sell the lead for $1.00 a pound and the scrap yard...

I did the same thing a few weeks back and the guy there told me it was brass and offered me $1.49 a pound

With this babbit how much pure would I have to add to bring it close to a coww consistency.

My neighbors brother gave me 28# of this lead 92-6-2 and I know it will make awesome boolits. My question is should I leave as is or mix it with some pure to stretch it out? I'm casting for 45acp.

My neighbor gave me a bunch of plumbers lead, flashing and pipe etc. My question is, will adding solder to it be enough for casting it into boolits for 45acp or will I need something more?

Well I guess its time for a new thermometer I did the cold water test and set the dial to 32 and when put in the boiling water it would not reach 212. And when adjusted to 212 would not go back down...
