I replaced the ejector spring with a lighter spring and it fixed mine. It also drops brass at my feet instead of 30 feet away.

Midway is showing in stock. I just got 200 from them last week.

That powder is probably from late 60’s to early 70’s. I just finished off a pound of 3031 from then with a price tag of $3.25.

I’ve had mine for a couple of years now. Never a hiccup. I don’t think you can find a better 1911 for the money.

For a hunting rifle I prefer the Skinner. I use a tang sight on my 93 Marlin which is primarily for target work. It is a little awkward getting use to placing your thumb along side of the sight...

I have the s&w 500 X frame grips on mine. They tame the recoil and give a little larger grip.

I agree, the Burris fastfire III is a good way to go. I’ve got 2 of them. Very compact and rugged.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I measured the sight on my Ruger. It is 1.263 wide. Hope this will help.

I don't think it is so much the dovetail as it is the width of the top of the sight. The one that abunaitoo has mounts on the outside of the receiver and yours is dovetailed into the receiver....

Seems that anything that is half as old as me is considered "Vintage" now days.

Most firearm thefts are "Grab and run" (for quick drug money). Any safe is better than no safe. That being said, buy the best you can afford.
