I like the Lee 90577, 459, 500 3r and the Lee 459 405 HB.

Obviously I am not h]going to try it, but still seems unusual to me

You got the bolt to go forward with a 300 BO in a 223?
Forum: Cast Boolits
I size at .310, but I also ensure I shake off any excessive PC before baking.

I use that bullet with powder coat in an AR pistol and 16 inch barrel with good results out to 100 yards. I have used: 1680, 296, Lil Gun and H110, but my best results are with 10.2 grains of I4198....

Or, maybe an AR pistol is To loud when fired from the shoulder.

My only suggestion is trying powder coat if at all possible. I shoot 230 grain, sized to .452 with 5 grains of 700X and no leading.

Not sure what the issue could be, I was just there and it worked for me. What grain round are you shooting? As others have said, use jacketed info for powder coat.

I get a lot of data from here: http://458socomforums.com/

I shot some 50/50 Lino and pure lead 500 grain over 26 grains of IMR 4198 and it went through a 10 inch locus tree. It did leave a nice exit wound.

I shoot the max load in a SW 69 revolver and a Ruger carbine with no problems. I mostly load 700X and PC.

Sorry, yes IMR 4198. I didn’t think I would like the Lee bullet, but it is fun to shoot. We have moved to KY and I hope to starting shooting it at 100 yards soon.

I started shooting 500 grain cast bullets from the Lee mold, which is a blast. The only target so far is a 10” Locust tree which the bullets go straight through with 24.4 grains of IRM at 50 meters.

I agree with the 460, but ensure you size the brass before loading, the shoulder must be set back in order for the bolt to go fully forward. Check out Big Bore on the Teppo Jutsu forum, he is really...

I shoot the NOE .310 230gr bullet with good results.

Adding a little pure lead will increase the weigh

I use a Lee clone of the Ranchdog 321/170. It cast great and shoots great.
Forum: Cast Boolits
The terminals are close to pure lead, which may be causing the bullets to bend while falling into the water, or after hitting the water. I could never get that mold to throw a bullet larger than 308,...

I have an 8 inch pistol and a 16 inch upper and size mine to 310 from a NOE mold. I have a Lee mold, but can’t get them to drop larger than 308.

I don’t shoot it much in the 45-70, but love it in the 458.226025
