Lyman 3589 and my Remmy with factory 1-16 twist does just fine. that much Pb does back you up some though. the 200 will be a much nicer plinker. if i ever rebarrel though, i'd probably pick 12...

RCBS 7.62-130-SPL. what do you get for as cast diameter? casting temp? alloy composition? ladle pour? bottom pour?

458 WM might make a dandy CB caliber.

i'm not enough of a shooter to drive that caliber. I've got lesser calibers...

Lyman 311410 size 0.311". vary seating depth as required. try 10 gr. of fast burning powder, 13 gr. of Unique though Blue Dot or about 16 gr. of 2400 or SR4759

these are hot loads but shoot really well in my 1894CL

311316 sized in a 0.314" sizer. LBT blue. GC of course. 15 gr. of H110.

it is a fun little rifle.

Dave Scovill's RCBS 45-270-SAA sized 0.456" over 13 gr. of Blue Dot. - general utility load

Lyman 311410 sized 0.311 works well in my m1c. just seat to cover up the gg. adjust powder charge accordingly (down)

FWIW, my Rem 700 Classic shoots the 3589 just fine, though it kicks vigorously. Factory bbl is 1-16 twist. IF you are going to rebarrel anyway, then pick what you want.

My Marlin 1894CL has almost no throat. i have to seat deeper than crimp groove. no big deal. just seat deeper until can just close action and bullet just touches throat. then crimp...

the throat on mine measures 0.381 if i recall correctly. Hmmm... maybe it was 0.383". none the less, slug the throat too, and size to the throat diameter to get best accuracy if you're going to...

Lyman makes a "devastator" 125 gr. HP mould already. cast it soft and it should open up. with the lighter weight, should penetrate less, thus reducing ominous richocetts. or try driving a 148 gr....

how many folks have to express an interest before a GB proceeds?
