Same here, I've been using sage gas checks for some time on multiple calibers without any issues. The gas checks might not be the problem.

I'd go with lee simply because that's what I have been using and I have been very pleased. That's not to say lee products are better, but they have served me just fine.

Nu finish is the best product I've found to keep my brass looking like new. But I'm sure any similar wax will work.
Using lee molds taught me that I should probably read the instructions every now and then. My first mold was all galled because of a lack of proper lubricant.
