You can draw 9mm brass to make decent jackets for 308 bullets up to 165 grain.

I would start with the .429 die and polish it out till you get the desired diameter of bullet. Polish and test size as you go. Sure it's time consuming but well worth the effort.

The Lee sizer is plenty strong enough for jacketed bullets. I have found that spring back is around .002. Hope this helps

Perhaps a slightly longer punch is needed instead of an extension. Back the die out and use a longer punch that will put you in a decent leverage spot. I make them all the time.

Have you ever considered Brownells Dicropan IM hot water bluing chemical? Hot water bluing is simple to do and has an awesome finish. Great for refinishing a pistol.

1680 works great for supersonic boolits. I have a pet load for 150 gr SP that chrony at 2000 fps without signs of excessive pressures. Main load I use in the mini 14.

Lately I have been running the wet tumbled brass thru an annealing machine. I will shake off the excess water first then the machine does the rest. Two birds, one stone.
