I made my shotmaker from scratch including the dripper bolts. I used Tweeco wire welding tips to get the correct orifice size.
The ladle part is made from a piece of channel iron. The ramp/dam...
My Mec would sometimes not drop the primers correctly into the “shellplate”.
Sometimes a little “cockeyed”…. Sometimes upside down.
The key is catching it before the shellplate rotates.

My Mec 9000GN in 12 gauge was giving me fits.
My other 9000GN in 20 gauge runs really smooth.
Have you tried calling Dillon?
You can always send it back to Dillon to get it refurbished.
Sort my hulls?
Heck, I have been gradually chipping away at since I went dumpster diving in the summer of 2022:

I have two flats of AA 28 gauge hulls sitting in a closet. New. Never been opened.
One of these days, I’ll spring for a 28 gauge.
Or maybe a gun with a 2 barrel set. 28 and...
That P/W 800 is a nice machine!
I had no clue they made a hull feeder for it.
I am local go where the ATA holds the Grand, so I always used go make it a point to stop in at the Spolar booth.

I will see how it goes.
I bought my Mec 9000GN in 12 gauge about 12 years ago. It was used.
It had been sitting on my reloading shop floor up until 3 years ago.
Then I ran into an old...
$900 ?!?!
You better jump on it!
Mine, brand new, plus the hull feeder plus the 12 gauge hull feed plate was $1,890 out the door.
I would snatch a second machine up that cheaply and convert...
The instruction manual for the Dillon says to only dump about 80 shells into the feeder.
Which does have me scratching my head….
Why not just an even 100?
I mean you gotta add more primers...

And it is light years above my Mec 9000GN.
The hull feeder plus the tilt out wad guide makes it so your right hand can stay on the roller handle the whole time.
That’s genius!
I am thinking I want to have less surface tension so the droplet falls away sooner with less diameter?
Maybe?
Possibly?
Thank you sir!
My “laddle” is a big piece of channel iron easily 18 inches to 24 inches long. So I might just cut it in half, so I end up with two laddles.
Then the new “dam” I make will be...
Make the shot smaller in diameter?
The Mark I version of my shotmaker used dripper bolts that I cobbled up using regular old hardware store hex headed bolts, hex nuts, and Tweeco style wire welder...

Yeah, just like the title says.
I have had some MiHec molds for about 10 years now just sitting in a drawer.
If I get back into casting boolits, and I use those hollow point molds, I am just...

Unfortunately, it is slowly turning itself into a pile of rust.
But, yeah, you got me. Totally gay.

12 gauge hulls really aren’t worth that much.
Maybe a penny a piece to a nickel a piece, tops.
I was asking one of the guys at work who specializes in instrumentation or automation about...
There was another big trapshooting match out there back in May or June called the US Open.
I didn’t realize it was going on. I showed up to shoot trap there all by myself and to check out some...
It was the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s world championship known as the Grand American.
For the longest time it was held in Vandalia, OH.
Then in 2005 or 2006, it was moved to the World...
