I've seen it done, and it looked like the Dremel had a mind of its own. It has to be the quickest way to destroy something.

I don't know what he is wanting, but the .577 Snider originally didn't actually have a chamber as we now know them. They were conversions from muzzle loaders and the bullet was undersized, and was...

Square up the full cock notch with fine stones and polish the end of the sear. Just make sure you don't change the angles very much and keep trying as you go. It's hard to put it back.

They say they can make them handle .45 ACP also. That would be an interesting choice in a lever gun!

With me it is when I can't stand the thought of sanding anymore. Sometimes after 5 or 6 filler coats and sometimes after only 3. I figure it's my gun, I can stop when I want.

I use mine to wet down a bore with solvent. It works better than patches.

Keep us updated. I have a M1917 that has a dark bore I might try that in.

If you just can't live with it, you'll have to establish a center point for a drill bit with a dremel tool and a center punch after carefully grinding off the rest of the screw head. This has to be...

Some of those repo .45 percussion guns use .451(?) roundballs and some use .457. When you ram the ball over the powder, it should shave off a tiny ring of lead so you have the best gas seal possible....

It doesn't take as much torque as people think, the old originals didn't have the metal or tolerances we have and they lasted for 150 to 250 years. Many old guns barely had 1/2" of course threads...

You have a bunch of options, but it sounds like the 35 Whelen or 338-06 might be the best.

I use round nose bullets in my 38-55. Get a primed empty case and try to hammer it off with the bullet in question. You'll find out quick if it's a problem.

At a last resort, you could get a laser sight with a "squeeze switch" on the grip for close in HD. I'd find a Smith who knows his stuff about M1 carbines if I couldn't resolve it myself..

I tend to trust the opinion of old WW2 soldiers that actually used them like my Dad. He saw the advantage over a 03, even though he like the 03, the Garand was sought after if they weren't issued...

Everybody should get a dose of "M1 Thumb" at least once as an initiation to the Garand, and to make sure you don't do it again! It worked for me as a lad.

It's easy to keep them 6 feet away when everybody has a gun! :^)

I did the same thing with a P11 Kel Tec that was rough feeling and had a stovepipe every now and then. They call it a "Fluff and Buff" where you slick down every place metal rubs on metal, except the...

Faux striping was used in the 1800s to give plain wood some figure, so it is authentic to finish one like that. That wood is some type of Cherry, but not like our native type. Cherry is a very stable...

They didn't neutralize the bluing action during manufacture well enough.

Marlin....or should I say "Remlin" is having trouble just making a plain old 30-30 that has everything straight and tight on it these days. That's asking a lot.

I had the very same problem with a 2x7 Leupold. I just couldn't get it in a place where it felt right for me. I finally bought a used fixed power 4X Leupold and it was just right with the eye relief...
