Well one thing I have figured out with the case gauge is that I dont have one issue, but two. The most prominent issue is in my brass being all range pick ups. Many of the cases (20%?) have some sort...

Sizing as in not setting the die correctly?

You now have a Bulldog, a Gp100 AND a 696 all in 44 special. Sorry but I just can’t find a reason to feel sorry for ya! I’m just envious!
I have found 8 grains of HS6 to be a great all...

Ok. I FINALLY got my case gauge.
I went through a bunch of my rounds. 1 out of maybe 10 doesn’t fit….completely random.

Converted brass from 223? Or 300 factory brass?
I am ONLY using 300 factory brass.
Forum: Case Forming / Re-forming
You will need to trim the length after you run them through the sizing die, then chamfer and debur again.
As many have mentioned in my thread “300 bo woes” a fella posted different 223 cases that...

Okay. I got the Mic out and here were my finding.
The ammo I’ve loaded that runs great, the neck is ~.3320
The ammo that jams, the necks are measuring at ~.3350. A couple at .3360. Thats at...

This is cool. I’ve often wondered if its just “old” dudes or what? Good to see a nice spread of ages. Knowledge from the grey hairs and enthusiasm from the youngin’s.

Whooo! Look at all those excellent responses! I love this board!
Correct Hannibal, just sticking with 300 factory brass so far to remove variables.
Haven’t gotten into the mic-ing yet, had to...

Factory ammo runs just dandy.
When I get jams and I “mortar” the round out I’m finding bright spots, usually a ring around the neck. Leads me to think I should thickness trim, but then my 220...

So I’ve been into 300bo for a while as a back burner project. With a suppressor on its a hoot to shoot. But I’m having a problem, it seems the necks on some of my loaded ammunition is coming out to...

Link took me to HDs generic bucket page. Do you mean like the chlorine buckets that have the tall, knurled lid?
Forum: Reloading Equipment
Ah yes! I love surplus center, forgot about em. Pretty decent stuff for good prices, better than harbor freight but not the exorbitant prices of say McMaster Carr.
Forum: Reloading Equipment
Absolutely! I actually quite enjoy making little machine etc for tasks like this.
Forum: Reloading Equipment
Where are you getting the two gallon buckets like that?
Will the screw on lid leak? Much?
I actually have some goodies laying around I could make a big roller...Hmm...

Thats what I did. Some brazing rob peened over and they’ve never moved since.
Forum: Cast Boolits
Fine idea! But, the bullets were left by a former renter. I guess that guy was a cowboy action shooter, perhaps he was sponsored and didn't want to move the bullets, if I’m remembering the story...
