I use 13.5gr of 4227 and a 200gr bullet. The come up from 100 to 200 yds is 6 minutes. hope the helps. Best, Roger

Drill and tap a cartridge, screw in a 1/4" pipe nipple, add plastic tubing cut to your preffered length.

Sounds like a burr. Look at the edge of the cavity under HIGH magnification. Doesn't take much to hang a bullet.

Put a piece of lead shot in that screw hole, should stop it from turning.

Make sure the sprue plate isnt too tight. Has to have a little wiggle to vent correctly, its kinda of a feel thing. Too tight and you have to push it back, too loose and it swings like a old garden...

Insulation is not needed in my opinion and I hunt Minnesota. Get em broke in and waterproofed and have dry socks if you need em. My Russells felt like bedroom slippers the first time I put them on...

Think light weight, lots of walking, don't need to pick up all that extra weight all day. the best I ever had were Russells Macintosh Bird shooters but pretty spendy now. Cabelas Kangaroo are good...
