I've had 2 that both shot great. The crummy trigger has me thinking about upgrading to a 541 but it's something of a backup gun anyway so not a pressing issue.

This has been my experience too. Out of stock designs that I can't find anywhere else. No response to inquiries about availability...
MP is fantastic.
Shipping to Canada is under a week and he regularly has sales. Get together €400 worth of stuff by going together with someone else and the shipping is included.
My biggest...

Organize powder bushings was my first thought.

LoL. I don't blame you!
It's been a pretty mild winter with daytime temperatures just a litt below freezing but we're heading into real cold temps in the next few days. My 10 days in Mexico is...
Sure looks a lot like some of the NEI molds I have.

I haven't measured but I'm fairly sure your idea would work.
As mentioned, measure the diameter and thichness . Some of the really big diameter rimmed cases might have a shell holder that is too...

If they chamber and fire fine unsized you can go that way but you will want tolube in some fashion. Tumble lube with Lee Alox is very easy-to-use.
For help with the sizing, you will need to...

I do realize that the effects on actual performance are likely little to nothing but it's become a puzzle I want to solve as much as a necessity. I'm also casting for others and want them to be happy...

I'm using a hotplate and got the mold hot enough that the alloy wouldn't freeze in it. The mold was over 650F at that point and I kept pouring as it cooled with the voids continuing.
It must be a...

I've tried ladel pouring but it's been a long time and I have trouble getting in a rhythm. In some ways the Lee 10lb is nicer because it's easier to see what you are doing but they drip more and I...

Well I'm revisiting this stubborn mold again. Probably put 10 pots of lead through it now with no real change in how it behaves. 9 of 10 bullets have an ugly void inside the bottom of the hollow...
Forum: Boolit Lube !
In Canada dragonbulletlube.com has several lubes including a bp lube that work well for me. Reasonable price too.
Did my own blends for years but decided to simplify things and focus on the...

Track ships loading and casting gear to Canada without any issues. The trick might be to order enough to make it worth the shipping cost.
I believe that they may have a deal with Lee to be the only...
This is what I was thinking too. Easier seat than a round ball.
Use that bullet in a 9.4mm Dutch East Indies revolver too.

Thanks guys. That's a few more things to try and more food for thought.

Yes it's brass molds I'm struggling with.
I had a steel single cavity RCBS Webley mold that is considerably easier to use.
Forum: Lead and Lead Alloys
They seem like a legitimate outfit and I've spoken with people who have bought from them. I even have a couple 60lb ingots in the garage with their name on that I found in a lucky trade a couple...

I've heard that the trick is more heat and tried up to 800 but will have to try even a bit more. Never had to get nearly that high with anything before. Hopefully the hotplate will put more heat...

I'm looking to purchase a thousand pounds or more from Metalex in BC and having trouble finding someone to take my money.
Emailed them directly and got no response. Called and was given an...

With the sale on at MP I went ahead and bought a few very beautiful hollow base molds. Truly amazing to look at!
After a cleaning and several heat cycles in the oven I am finding it a challenge to...
I really like the external design. Never seen anything similar.
Great find!
Forum: Black Powder Cartridge
I've used those to make 50 army for a 1871 rolling block handgun. Wouldn't hesitate to try it for black powder 50-70. Probably hold more powder than solid head cases too.

Lee makes a .457" 220gr bullet for the Ruger Old Army. I've played with it a bit but not seriously. Biggest possible issue is that the base is slightly undersized to make it easier to start in the...
This is my experience. Great stuff for economical lighter loads but things get squirrelly when close to max.
I switch to a slower powder if ramping up the power.
