I just got this mold with my last Midway order. Planning on casting some this afternoon.

I myself sight in my handguns, which are either SAA types and 1911s at 15 yards. Rifle I sight in at 50 yards. 100 yards is too far to walk to check for adjustments and change targets. ;)

Colt SAA's shot black powder for nearly 4 decades before smokeless powders cames along. And that was with weaker steels than we have now. They are safe.

45/75 takes a .459 bullet, 45 Colt takes a .452 bullet, so that won't work. Also 45 Colt is a straight wall whereas the 45/75 is a bottle neck, so it won't work. I use 2 sets, RCBS and CH4D, mixed...

Use a dowel from the muzzle end and tap it out, action open.

And seeings this is the Black Powder section, fill the case with FF choose your brand of black powder and you will definitely have powder against the flash hole. 8-)

When I feel the need for a filler, I use a pinch of laundry lint from towels.
