I welded extensions on the jaws of a pair of vise grips to fit an RCBS 35 cal mould, works great, no more out of round. I am careful when closing the mould and I like the fact I can work without as...

I glass bedded a ruger lightweight RL77 in 308 and got some improvement but not as good as I wanted until I got the bright idea of dampening the barrel vibration by using black RTV between the fore...

Last year my gunshop found 500 or so primers on a shelf, they were in wooden boxes with little wooden dividers, they gave them to me because they were so old, well I tried to use them they all went...

Thank you all for your response. I will look at all of the muzzleloaders at the gunshop and report back to this forum and perhaps someone will be able to give me advice. I have to repair some...

Ok, as you can see I don't know much about muzzleloaders I just thought it might be fun to get one to shoot. If anyone would like to enllighten me I would appreciate it.:)

Hmmm, I'll go back and look at it again, it had a leaf pattern engraved on the lock that looked like it was gold filled. I thought it was paint, I better look again. Also the stock went all the way...

Check your local building codes, here in the UP anything over 12x12 requires a building permit that means proper foundation with concrete footings below frost line etc.

I saw the ones cabine tree makes so I welded some metal tips on a pair of vise grips to try it out and I can tell you they result in very consistent bullet weights and no more finning.

about the "tragic boating accident" I live on the border with canada and many canadians had boating accidents where all of their soon to be illegal guns went to the bottom of some lake, no joke!

sounds like you're good to go, I tried to post a picture of the page from my manual but I could'nt figure out how. The next time my daughter is home I will have her show me :)
Forum: Special Projects
Yes any combination that will allow proper positioning, try to assemble the gear train and you will be able to figure it out easily. Do you know how to use the threading dial?
Forum: Special Projects
Oops, The lead screw needs to be 56 tooth change gear as well. All the back positions are driving and all the "F" or front positions are just spacers in that setup.

I have the same lathe with the manual, in my manual the setup for 14 tpi is figure 2 which uses position B as an idler only. so it does not matter just choose a similar diameter for the back position...

I am new here and have not tried posting pictures yet, I will try to do so. I purchased the copper sulfate at a feed store/garden center I think it was used for some sort of pest or insect control.

I tried dissolving copper sulfate in water and leaving the cast boolits in the solution for a while. They came out copper plated nice and shiny I was doing it to wadcutters to improve accuracy but it...
