I don't powder coat, but you state you water drop, and powder coat as well. There is no need to water drop, bakeing to cure the PC is undoing the hardness gained by water dropping unless you quench...

Buckshot used to provide that service, think he retired from it.

I formed all mine from 30-06, just a matter of running them through the Whelen sizing die slowly, I like to then firestorm with a moderate charge of fast powder. You're right, light bullets and light...

My Whelen is a Handi as well, has accounted for several deer.

That's where my old mould went. Just kidding, it is a shame. I only have four H&G, pretty nice tools. Hope you can bring it back into service.

And don't forget the cylinder throats need to be uniform to each other as well.

Now that makes sense, thanks for posting this.

My reference to base riveting is during the firing sequence, pressure riveting the base before it gets to the neck.

Another possible scenario is the base riveting. Something to consider.

You could try putting an even coat of "mould release agent" in the cavities. A rag wetted with solvent to clean the block faces after it dries. The best use for "release" agent I have found.

Not sure I understand the question either. I have five sizers, and a few duplicate dies as well. You never know.

Sounds like you need to tap the pins in a fuzz to me.

I'm a member of A&S, Keith is out of pocket there at present.

Sounds like you need a Rowell ladle, they make a few different sizes, all larger than a Lyman.

Torque converter swap not too bad once you have the trans pulled out. Pretty substantial job. Replace the #3 coil and I think you will be good.

I'm a Ford tech, and agree that it's probably a misfiring coil, in overdrive, 50-60 mph especially on an upgrade is often when the miss shows up. Need a scan tool to test drive running power balance....

I'm working with the same load right now, think I will settle with 9. grs. 10 & up thump my hand more than I desire.
In case anyone is interested, I have a double cavity Ideal 311413, and a Ideal single cavity 311291 in S&S right now I am trying to sell for a deceased friend's wife right now. Really nice moulds.
I too think most prices here are fair, plus the seller has a better grasp on rating the condition.
I have lapped several, cast a few, drill the base and insert a screw, apply a bit of lapping compound and turn the prepared bullet in the cavity. Will probably take a few times, take it a little at...

Sounds good to me, I would much rather eat a nice doe than an old buck, don't eat antlers.

It's legal to use center-fire here, I have used a 308 for years, 125 gr bullet and 4 grs of Promo. Lots of fun.
