I have seen in print somewhere that at least some of the mil surp 7x57 were 1 in 8.5 ...and that seems to check with the uraquay carbine I have.

Bit higher intensity round than what is recommended in the old rollers I beleive.

I think you get the concept i have in mind quite well, that is quite a nice rig you have.

"Newer" rolling blocks were chambered in 7mmx57 which is all ready rimless, ...it is a matter of tweaking the extractor to the smaller case size.
