I was just thinking about that as I have several fishing weight molds. I just wouldn't know where to start for him to sell them.
Forum: Cast Boolits
Never mind, a quick google search proved I was wrong. Well that really sucks. **** big brother butting in where they are not needed.
Forum: Cast Boolits
I am 99.9% sure you don't need an FFL to sell projectiles. If someone were to sell reloaded ammo then a destructive device license and insurance is needed.
But I may be wrong.

So my 13 Y/O son is wanting to see about casting projectiles and selling them. What is ya'alls opinion on this? I don't see a problem with it as he will be running all sells through me but maybe...

I haven't had any problem sizing them down to 309 diameter they've been working like a champ
Forum: Cast Boolits
Yeah I would weigh them Lubed and checked and what powder do you intend on using maybe I can find you some load data
Forum: Cast Boolits
That is great advice I don't weigh bullets either for plinking
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
We were able to get the NOE 247s to stabilize sub sonic out of the vz-48 as well as all of my 300 BOs but the VZs wouldn't cycle
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
1 in 9.45" twist and a 11.9" barrel. The 4 or so rounds of each charge I shot were stable (11 Gr-12.5 .3 Gr increments) but I HIGHLY advise anybody who is considering using this load data check...
Forum: Cast Boolits
With the weights varying that much I would weight 15 or so and use the heaviest weight for the load data that you choose I.E. 185 Gr was the heaviest I would use data for 185 grain.
I guess I...

OK so I tried some IMR 4227 today and with 11.6 grains under a 200 grain PC'd boolit I was getting a velocity of 1050ish (i don't have the data in front of me) which was my target BUT it still...
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
I am not sure. I tried 247 grain projectiles and it was the same story, using 20/28 shot decent but still didn't cycle the action
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
I had good success using 20/28 but it wouldn't cycle the action
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
I am trying to figure out a load using either IMR 4227 or H335 for an VZ-58 using PC'd 200 Gr Boolits. Does any one have any suggestions for a starting point?
Forum: Cast Boolits
Not a problem yeah I looked trying to find a calculator that would take that into consideration as well and I couldn't find one but that's not to say that there is not one out there

http://gundata.org/ballistic-coefficient-calculator/
It told me it should be around .319

That is a great idea. I will take it there today

I am trying to find a replacement firing pin for an outside hammer crescent D/B. I found one through gunpartscorp but it didn't fit so now I am looking again.
I found a one-piece firing pin that...

I appreciate everyone's help. I think my brother is going to try 4.5 grains of 20-28 and work up from there. I will let you know what the outcome was as well as the velocities of said loads

Anyone with quickload mind looking for a load for subsonic 7.62x39 with a 200 gr cast boolit using 20/28?
Forum: Cast Boolits
I am using the Lee 2-Cavity Bullet Mold C312-155-2R and sizing down to 309. They are powder coated and I am using 9.5 Gr of IMR 4227. It is definitely a mild load but it is great for plinking out to...

I load 190 Gr SWC in both my Rossi 92 and S&W 686 and have had great success with them. Out of both firearms they are incredibly accurate
